Library.

Right now we've got quite a lot of books that will take up our inventory space, and some carry them about most of the time. My idea is this;

We have a new NPC, Librarian based in all of the towns in the game, and the Guild Hall as a purchasable NPC. We can store and take out books at her (if she isn't hot send ANet angry emails), and our progress through missions that give additional completion to the book will be carried out through the librarian too. We will have to take them out to give it in for faction, reputation points and whatnot and we can take the book out for say if we wish to read it, such as Zho's Journal. This is only character based, so you can't use books from one character to update another characters' reputation points either.

Dunno, just a thought.

I would just make it a storage compartment. we only have, what, eight books? not worth a whole NPC

Then again, look at the Weaponsmith, and to a lesser extent the Festival Hat Keeper. I agree with what you're saying though.

Imo a pannel in the H tab would be easier to put in/work out on Anets part and would do the same thing though.

I like the idea. My character's backpack doesn't have room for all 17 storybooks. But how many copies of each book would the library be able to hold?

I guess one thought going through the developers minds at the moment is
Why don't they get one book finish it hand it in before getting a second one.

I messed up and have 5 books on one character but I recon I will not do that on the other characters.

Like the library npc idea
Like Stacking books in some way
Like a special storage section for books

Hopefully they will take pity on those of us with a book fetish

Include Tomes and Scrolls there too, imo.

There is an issue. Unless you make it EXACTLY like the Xunlai Storage, it won't work. Why? Well, Hatmaker/Weaponsmith - your examples - give BLANK items, which is the same as the Book NPCs we have now. Can't stack books either unless they are exactly the same, this is why - I believe - that inscriptions and mods are not stackable, other then "economy" (aka hording) problems.

Might as well just increase Belt pouch size to 2 rows, bags to 3, and add a 5th tab of storage. Or, heck, just add 5 storage tabs, two rows of tabs. We can do that.

/sign for more storage, but this idea probably won't work. Need Linsey's confirmation though, as I may be misinterpreting what she said on the book-items.

Just copy and revamp the Incubator.

Either an NPC or an extra page in storage would be nice.

Actually, rather than carrying useless books around, I would prefer a NPC librarian that will update that ever you have completed at the moment whenever you talk to him.

And when there are enough accumulated, he will offer to let you select an appropriate reward based on what you have completed.

that will solve the problem of book storage / forgetting to bring books / too many books to bring etc.

"Greetings, Heroes! My name is Klim. Pronounce it with me, "Kl-eeee-m". Reverse of the word "Milk", yes? Master Librarian Antohneoss has bestowed upon me the honorable job of collecting legendary tales of the great heroes to add to Mehtu the Wise's great Library. I take my job seriously. Come, give me an exclusive story, that will parallel the stories written by The Scribe!

NPC dialogue:
Come back to me when you have interesting tales to tell. Always... no, no... never... forget to check your references.

There should be options for
1. Prophecies
2. Factions
3. Nightfall
4. EoTN
5. etc etc

Clicking on 2. Factions for example
there should be an option to keep track of which missions have been done / incomplete
and an option below to trade in for a reward.

It was the fact that it was called a librarian that turned me on.
