Fort Aspenwood no longer balanced.

Anyone else think that Fort Aspenwood from the Luxon side is impossible? I have played like 10 rounds, and its simply impossible to break through to the inner sanctum and kill them in the time it now takes. (Maybe not impossible, but near enough). I know they buffed the rewards, but simply not being able to win is not balanced, in the slightest.

While I do agree that it got ALOT more difficult on the Luxon side, it is definitely possible. Just need some people to queue up with healers to keep the offense pushing, and make sure to take out NPC's > players (unless they are inhibiting your ability to kill NPC's) for the simple fact that killing NPC's leads to the center. Luxons not running healers isn't Anets problem.

Oh, and if someone decides to bitch about Kurzicks running bonders...welcome to [Gaze of Contempt] and [Rend Enchantments], both of which easily fit on a lot of caster bars.

I dont find it any different. My team of kurz had the inner gate broken within 5 minutes. I DCed so no clue what happened. It was never easy for Luxons to win in FA anyways

Just bad luck - you were playing against a kurzick side with several monk players. I was one of them.

Sorry, not true at all. There was a time when Kurzicks woudn't play FA since Luxons seemed to break through in less than 5 minutes. Even with bonders, there was no reason not to bring Enchant removal with E/D running amok. I was Luxon at the time, I remember.

I'd play Aspenwood if they'd add more servers for it.

Doing nothing in an outpost is fuuuuuuuuuun.

EDIT: I'll also add that FA is not "no longer balanced"; it was never balanced in the first place. Seriously, it sucked.

It's not impossible but it's kind of harder.
What I usually bring there is a nuker with one or two skills to remove enchantments. 2 or more nukers can win without much problems, unless the other team have 2 or 3 mesmers xD.

It might just have been that my party were idiots... I was running abuild that would usually drop the NPC's, and my stupid party wouldnt push into gunthers area. Each time though, another 5 minutes would have spelt victory for luxons. It seems like the balance to FA by shortening its duration wasnt fair, maybe weaken the base defenders to equalise it.

Life Bond has a 2 sec recharge, while those two skills are good for giving your team a window to attack its not like they are bonder silver bullets or anything...

Say it with me:
People running weapon mastery classes on the Luxon side (OR casters that require a line of sight for their skills to hit) are trying to lose.

If the luxon side manages to break three gates and then loose, we get 1.5k faction. And since it takes roughly 5 minutes for the weapon to charge, that means its possible to get 1.5k in 5 minutes.

Who cares if we're at a disadvantage, it's one of the best faction gain methods, ever.

It's close to impossible on the luxon side now. It's pretty easy to tell within the first few minutes if kurzick will win.

There's a lot less strategy on the kurzick side now. At least amber running doesn't need to be done now.

That said, I've only done FA/JQ when there was the Simple Thievery steal-Siege-Blast bug, but it still looks like it would be good way to screw over bonders.

Ahh the good old times.
I used to run [Nature's Renewal] and [primal echoes] on my ritualist to mess with the Kurzicks.
Fun times!

What are you talking about? They changed the rewards and nothing else, the only difference is that people who know what they are doing are now playing. Stop sucking and you'll win.

Update:
Quote:
* The time it takes for the Vengeance of the Gods meter to fill up has been reduced by 5 minutes.
The rate at which Vengeance of the Gods fills up has been reduced because, on average, it was taking Luxons less time to win a match than it would take Kurzicks.

Yep, especially when you are throwing those Tridents through closed doors ...
