Arenanet Policy Inconsistency - "Cape Trim Transferrence"

When I first looked on observer mode, I noticed that someone from the guild Dont Mess With The Don [mkay] had a silver trim on their cape. The pictures below are provided for proof about this matter.

Now, I know that the members of this guild were in a guild called "Goldcape or Ragequit [rQ]", which placed top 16 in the previous monthly automated tournament, while Dont Mess With The Don [mkay] did not even participate in this tournament. So, it is quite clear that [rQ]'s "Silver Trim" was transferred to [mkay].

Now here comes the Arenanet Policy Inconsistency - just one month before this matter, a friend of mine requested to transfer his guild's silver cape trim to another guild, only to be rejected by Arenanet. The following is an exact quote from the support ticket that he received:

So, my question is, is it now acceptable for cape trims to be transferred to any guild we want? If so, who do we contact for this matter? Or, is it simply an unprofessional Arenanet fact that we must "know somebody inside the system" for this unprofessional act to happen?

I'd like an answer so I can know whether my current guild's cape can now be transferred to my other guild.

I have attached images below providing proof of this matter.

This isn't a QQ thread, it's a "wtf Anet get your rules straight" thread. There's no reason why one guild (if it actually happened) can get a cape transferred, and another can't.

Need more info.

I heard it takes 2 weeks to even put reward points and capes in... If I remember correctly mkay placed in the top 16 in the September monthly.

And if you do need to know someone on the inside just blame izzy.

The silver trim is supposed to be temperary but maybe Anet forgot to take it away from a previous win? Also could that person be a guest?

Step ONE: Remove or blot out all names from screenie.

Step TWO: Post screenie on GWG.

This doesn't really need names blotted out, since it's not blaming the players for anything, and you can just obs the game and see the names anyway. It's just showing that the guy in mkay has a silver cape still.

Why would one guild be able to transfer? super duper specialness omg? Nah, I don't think so :/

I think it makes sense that the trim won't transfer based on the idea that it signifies that your current guild got recognition of the tournament, not the new ones. Even though the new guild will have the exact same members, the trim is still for the guild NAME that participated. The new guild didn't therefore it shouldn't get recognition.

Bottom line, your current guild is the one with the trim because that guild was in the tournament, not the new one.

The trim was never transfered. They don't transfer trims (the only exception being rawr getting gold trim after a hacker deleted rawr (and it should be noted 'new' rawr still went on to win a monthly, so they won a gold trim again after getting the 'transfer')). What you are seeing is simply a delay in giving new guilds their trim and removing the trim from previous winners.

It normally takes a few days to get the proper trims to all the guilds, then they remove the trims from the previous winners who no longer get a trim. If you see them again with the silver trim in two weeks, call me an idiot and rant all you want about it being unfair, but until then, just wait and see.

I know for a fact that all guilds have had their capes distributed already.

The guild Coloring Book [mad] had never even existed 2 months ago, and they scored a Silver Cape in the last Monthly. They have a Silver Cape now.

This isn't anything that's not publically available to everyone anyways. The match was on observer mode and the mAT results are instantly available with Tolkano.

If you thought logically and actually checked any other guild who previously had silver you would of noticed izzy hadnt removed at least half of them , which he always does because apparently its just too hard on some stupid level to do so. Its always been this way, many guilds get left for weeks without there cape trim being removed. Our old guild still has bronze , I even pm'ed him ingame and told him... but its still there.

You put an awefull lot of effort into this thread for a question any gvg'er could of answered for you.

its called they came in second in a mAT and no one bothered to remove it because Anet is lazy and they havent done it for a ton of people

Anet Policies are actually, oh I don't know.... important?

I would have thought the time to check the cape trim had been removed would be in the update after the MAT (ie win silver in Sept, keep it until the update after the Oct MAT ie the upcoming Nov update).

Just a guess by me (as Id have thought the adding and removing trims would have happened at the same time...which with mad having theirs seems not to be the case).

I don't know why I'm keeping this open. Really logic defies it since the question has been answered and addressed, it's going off-topic and some of these posts are becoming inflammatory. Maybe there's a discussion to be had so I'll take a huge leap of faith and see where it takes us.

You know for a fact all guilds have their capes already? So Wesh and noGG not having bronze on obs mode is simply because...? Please look at what I said, first they distribute all trims, then they go about removal. Many guilds have tried to transfer trim and were always denied.
/agree with closing this thread. If by mid November they still have the silver trim, open a new thread.
