First Finished Tablet Drawing

Sup guys,

I noticed I haven't posted any pictures in a while, so here's the first finished drawing I've done on my new Tablet, the Cintiq 12WX...

How are you finding the Cintiq? I've had a right nightmare calibrating the colour to match my main monitor, the Cintiq feels dark in comparison but I've read the Dell I have (2407WFP) tends to be overbright and has a slight yellow cast. I can just about get the brightness to match up by using Nvidia's gamma settings but I still have to switch the image back and forth now and then to check.

Heh, well I suppose I'm lucky because my monitor (which is an ancient CRT) is so bad on its color accuracy that I just gave up. The cintiq on the other hand came with fairly good color settings by default, iirc. Either that or they're both really bad and I have no idea.

Do you sketch and color it yourself or do you use photoshop and stuff?

I <3 the felt tip nibs for the pen btw, if you haven't tried it yet I can recommend. They tend to get frayed pretty quick though.

OMG im soo jealous..that is amazing. I wish i could draw like that.i have lots of imagination and stuff..but when i try to put it on paper..i just cant..i even bought a tablet and all and still suck. anyways nice very nice

Oh wow, you lucky little *censored*, that's an expensive tablet (well, here at least).

Looks very good, the head looks a bit big for the body (I could be very wrong) but otherwise, nice.

Contrast is good, though her face looks to be a tad flat, and she has quite a strong neck, though her shoulders are very small. It doesn't look balanced.
The lighting is good, but her hair and cloths don't show any defined light direction like her skin does. If she's wearing a certain material that doesn't pick up light a lot, then I guess fair enough, but her hair should have more tonal values in it. At the moment you've got light that seems to come from the top, but on her face and body its coming from her left (our right).

Putting that aside, it's a nice drawing, but personally it doesn't do anything for me.
What was your concept? Or is this just a practise?
