Well, finished vanquishing EOTN with Jaga Moraine and thought to give Frostmaw a try. It went better than I thought, with the difficulty on par with NM. Once you know where the pop-ups are, and how to aggro them, it goes quite smoothly.

I am posting this because I know others are holding back from doing it, thinking it is rather difficult. In the end though, it really is not bad at all.

Well, I hope this helps a few people out there, and it would be even better if others would post some additional advice of their own.

Another little tip for this is, it is a good idea to bring pain inverter, it totally violates the wurms, makes it a ton easier.

I think it took 20 seconds to kill boss with Pain Inverter lol

*edit* I forgot to add that I did not have maxed asuran at the time that I did this, think it was around rank 6-7.

First time I did it with H/H on HM it took me 4 hours. Last time about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Actually the most important improvement for me was to take hero mesmer to deal with all those wurm spawns. Probably there are other possibilities but mesmer for me in this dungeon just did wonders. My squad (professions) was almost the same as OP, I used paragon instead of SS necro. Build of other two heroes were very similar (exactly the same MM but my mesmer did not use VoR - it was before update of VoR, now I would use it for sure) . There are also several deadly mobs which can be avoided like mobs of 10 drakes on the 2nd level (player needs to observe their patrol pattern - there is one mob of ice eles which needs to be pulled first).

avoid the ice drakes on floor 2 - it is faster and easier to take the stormclouds if you have spirit bond on one of your heroes for the puller.

lies....pain inverter is needed a few times to kill the boss at the end and thats with max asuran

Here's Vloxen Excavations. It wasn't that bad other than a few groups. I found Bellok's group to be among the easiest, especially with that wall right there to stick most of the group into a nice little ball.

Again, if you have any additional info. on how to do this, or where to improve, please feel free to add.

got anything for duncan HM? xD last bit for my HM book and cba to work out a strat for his dungeon ^^

Awesome stuff, i looked at the skills for the mesmer and i am setting up the hero for it, but i ask OP, what are the atributes for your mesmer?

but: I ran, well on the VoR anyway - FC 10+1+1; dom 10+1; insp 11+1
that worked for me...


AND PI IS NOT NEEDED LOL....it isn't needed, frostmaw fell in about 30secs just from the hexes in my team not PI....I found it pretty worthless really...good tanking is better IMO....hex-way ftw lol....

/sign petition to add a third mes hero plz ^^

Note the lack of 2 people. Also, no cons. The DP on Livia and Gwen is entirely from Frostmaw and the couple of wurms that spawn with it.

Also have vanq'd 2 zones with it so far. Excellent build.

Frostmaw HM as team of 5 without consumables.

I was quite plain HB, Ogden was full prot with Divert Hexes, Olias was curses (SS) with Splinter Weapon. The warrior was balance between survival and damage... Heavy armor boost and ~50 dps. The ele was using fire. Why we were 5 was because certain people were running all over the place, messing up aggro and made our well-being to be misery instead. Eventually some had to go leave at the beginning of level 4. Suddenly it got much easier. Were down to 5 but with aggro control we did it just fine. No deaths except at the very end where we managed to place ourselves in the middle of major wurm spawn . That was a wipe. The Last boss went down without problems.

Basically the only trick with this team setup was to let the warrior do his job.
