Mat
3 pages • Page 2
I'm REALLY surprised by the amount of negative (as in attitude, not answers to the poll) responses to this.
Sure A.net has screwed up a LOT of things lately (balancing, GW:EN in general, lack of public relations), but...
a) its not a workday, the last time they had server issues it was a weekend and the same thing happened, nothing was really fixed till Monday. While it is upsetting, you can't be surprised that 10-15 people won't come in on their day off.
b) do you people honestly think a.net won't redo the MAT? The whole "that would make sense so of course A.net won't do it" arguement isn't exactly valid (by definition it is an illogical arguement). If they were willing to have a "dragon festival redux" event a year ago, I don't see why they won't redo the mat.
Oh, and yes the guy decided to have double HB weekend on a MAT weekend should also be fired (the game wide lag was bad enough, but this made things even worse).
Voted yes of course.
I'm surprised how many people have voted no. Probablly people who either a) did well in the xulai house and don't want to lose their keys b) did well in the Mats (really good accomplishment beating dced opponents) c) have no idea what we are talking about or d) are just trolling to screw up the results (my big problem with sardalaic polls)
If you voted no and have a valid reason to explain to me besides the selfish ones I just listed, we'd all like to hear it.

As to the rest of your post, it's not the lag we are complaining about. Lag happens, of course they didn't mean for that to happen. We are complaining that Anet doesn't even apologize for what happened.

Doesn't mean you're not terrible at PvE though! Don't change the subject

ArenaNet and NCSoft are NOT responsible for disconnects during the tournaments. It says so in their rules. So, if one person gets disconnected during a match, that means the match continues to go on and not called, unless one team forfeits the match. Even if the disconnect is server-side, ArenaNet and NCSoft cannot be responsible for it. The players participating in the tournaments have agreed to those terms when they decided to play the game, even if they haven't read them. I know most of you people haven't read them because you're complaining about it!
As for the "Dragon Festival Redux" period, even though I'm glad they did it (I actually just got Factions around that time), they didn't HAVE to do it, either, but they did anyway.
Seriously, look at this page and scroll down to "Connectivity". It's about a third of the way down. You'll find the exact message:
Quote:
| Due to the nature of computers and the Internet, ArenaNet is not responsible for the results of any disconnection or network problems experienced by players. |
If you actually read through this, thank you for your time.

That is beyond stupidity, and there is no reason they shouldn't do a rollback. The least they could do is simply say something about the situation.

Also, they did it for the Dragon Festival, they didn't HAVE to do it. So, why do PvE events get more support than PvP events?
