I have seen many friends, and guldmates leave GW1 because it has literally dried up.
Many of us have played since Beta....we laughed, cried, and raged at each nerf/buff thrown at us.
The skill combos that were created by my guild in less than 24 hours, was short of amazing.
We kept coming back for more when the 'other' expansions were added.
We watched eagerly as each skill balance was announced.
We held parties in the GH day on end when OBs mode was introduced.
Now....
We aren't logging in as much.
GW2 was announced a loooooong time ago, and that was it.
No snippets of gossip worth seeing, no screenshots to show us the new wonders, just the generic:
"It's going to be BETTER than GW1!!"
After that...nothing.
All the chit-chats held with gaming mags just re-hashed the same crapola we were fed over time.
There is nothing fresh and exciting to keep us interested until the Beta of GW2.
Yes, I'll say it before you do..I have PvP'd..I have dungeoned my socks off in HM.
I have pugged every possible mission, trying to assist newer players.
I have farmed, ran..explored, tormented every inch of this game.
Titles?..pfffft.
Ok..starting to sound like a QQ thread..it is not.
I would like anyone elses insight in to what they believe will be up ANets sleeve to possibly keep their player base interested until GW2?
~Peace out.

Every now and then they add a new title, something to disire... then you get it and its back to fealing like there is nothing to do. Events bore me. I completely agree with what your saying. I wish they stuck some kind of new something for us to do. Most of my friends dont play anymore. I feal you and we all know what your going through.

However I believe anet should issue mini expansions/updates similar to GWEN (but organized better imo).
I'm guessing more events, maybe some new money title (like sweet tooth or party animal), potentially add some new stuff to the three campaigns, maybe Zodiac Spear/Scythe (unlikely but possible)
What they should do to keep players...
*Actually add the proposed town in pre-searing, requires xx level to enter, higher level charr on other side, mini HoM (mainly for LDoA), etc
*Make the Deep/Urgoz/Sorrow's Furnace (I bet you haven't heard that in a while) more difficult and more rewarding
*If the HoM is becoming account based, add meta-titles which are based upon achievements/titles across multiple characters, etc, to encourage people to run through the game a few more times
*Add some new quests (similar to the EoTN mains) that take characters throughout a campaign (or cross campaigns) that give some unique reward
*Basically, revitalize what's there, and add just a little new content =D

I
nothing really...
a guild mate and me have already moved on to playing WoW, the rest of my guild barely logs on.
I'm still highly anticipating GW2 and I eat up all the news that is provided. I definitely agree tho, the amount of info provided just doesn't satisfy the player base.
The GW's well has really dried up lately

I'm still hoping for some missions added into GW1 were we can fight Dhuum and Menzies. Can't leave GW1 without it finishing! Let us kill the rest of the "Fallen God Alliance" (as I call it). We killed 1 of 3, now for the other two! Can't just have us ignore them
.
All in all, ANet is repeating old ideas, refusing to try coming up with new ideas, and are trying to expand how many people they will get for GW2. Don't expect new things to be added, but still hope for them, and when you get an idea, make a thread in the small chance that ANet will see and start working on that concept for a big update in the future.
They said they won't be making any more expansions and campaigns for GW1, but that doesn't mean they can't make free updates (or BMP sized additions). Not to mention they almost always go back on their word (make it a good thing!)

Yea, I know what you are saying. I find myself logging on for less and less. Then when I do log I can barely manage to even ab 1 time before I am bored and log.
I have pretty much given up on new and exciting. With work and my new college experience my spare time is spent studying. I might play 5 hours a week now. During my prime I was probably playing 9+ hours a day XD

I expect nothing more out of GW.
If we chose to keep playing untill GW2 or if we walk away then come back once GW2 is released Anet could care less.
GW, like most all games, is just a way for me to escape the real world for a short time and relax. It still works just fine for that purpose, if a bit boring from time to time...
