55 monk still works?

Well, its been a while (1+years) since ive played GW and i am starting to get back into it. My question is can i still use my 55 monk to farm places that i could before (troll cave, UW w/SS, Etc), and are there any new places? Any help will be appreciated.

Yep, everything is still exactly the same as 1 year ago.
(You know, Anet is a bit lazy.....Sometimes.)

Btw, ofcourse GW Nightfall and GW:EN got released, so it should even be easier with all the new (PvE-Only) Skills which you can use.

Under the GWGuru banner there should be some buttons like "55", "ob/ss ele", "sf sin", with a small green orb next to it. When ANet nerfs something that makes the build unusable, the orb turns red.

For fun, I got my new monk character to Droks at level 3. Using a regular monk tome, an elite monk tome and a bunch of Stars of Transference I loaded him up with skills.

My though was to put all skill points into smiting (gets me to level 4). Put on a healing cap with sup healing (0+1+3) and cast mending. Then cast other permanent enchants. Switch to smiting cap so now level 8 smiting (4+1+3).
Put a sup protection rune in someplace (0+1+3).

I used an HP+30 offhand and had I think 20 HP. Took down a few avicari - slowly - but haven't got to a pack of trolls yet.

This gonna work - or should I change out some skills ?

BTW - secondary is Necro so I thought of putting insidious parasite in for some healing as well and removing Holy wrath. Also thought of balthazars aura.

I want to get this figured out pretty quickly so I can start powerlevelling others while I am only level 5 LOL - just think it is funny watching a level 3-5 tanking and killing level 24's

Wouldn't being a 55 HP Monk contradict the idea of Holy Wrath?

Cause certainly 4-5 avicari are no trouble even with their damned savage slash or whatever interrupting SoJ once in while? At 20 Hp with protective spirit up all the time mending + watchful seems to give all the healing I need

The energy loss will kill you.

You lose 8 energy everytime an enemy hits you providing you have Balth Spirit and Essence Bond on you, and that will not give you enough room in your energy to recast PSpirit. The Avicara will kill you after your enchantments end and you die.

I made a mistake in the original post which I changed right after you posted tyla. I meant symbol of wrath not holy wrath - want a damage spell that I could use that was low energy and might finish off lurkers where few hits were leadign to slow energy gain - figured symbol of wrath at 5 enregy every 30 seconds would make sure I could get enough energy to keep up prot spirit even with just one avicari fierce attacking me.
