I actually scam about once or twice a day, not paying for runs, etc

Best sort of scam thing but wasn't really a scam, i was buying 25 ectos but the guy put up 250 by accident so i got 250 ectos for like 80k lol. if you guys seriuosly were about to get 225 free ectos, you're full of shit if you say you would tell the guy.
Lordy.
You sir, are on the long road to oblivion.
As in life, there's certain behaviours one shouldn't try...and decieving another for your own gain is one of them...want to know why?
KARMA.
As in life...games have a thing called 'digital karma.'
It will come back and bite you some day.
If this is how you live, and interact with people..you will lose the oportunity to be around decent folks...and be surrounded by those that feel the SAME way as you.
Yall will be scamming the shorts off of each other in a game (and life) while the rest of us are having fun playing a game, and socializing.

Oh yeah..OT:
NO, I would not, could not scam anyone..because I certainly wouldn't want to be scammed.

No, I have never scammed. I've bought items for less than I believe that I could resell the items for, but I don't consider that scamming as the other person was fully aware of the amount they were getting for the trade.

Have I ever scammed? No. QUite the contrary, I tend to help folks out and cut prices if they can't afford something, tip high for speedy runs, give things away for free and tell people when they could get a better price for what thet are asking...scamming is just another example of how ANONYMITY+INTERNET=ASSHOLE

To me "scamming" has nothing to do with an item's "worth". If I ask 100k for an item someone thinks is worth only 10k that is NOT a scam. Just do not buy from me. If I agree to buy something for 100k but instead offer 100g that IS a scam, attempting to deceive someone out of their gold/item/etc.

And no, I have never scammed. I once bought 80 lockpicks for 100g by accident, pm'd the guy and gave him the other 99,900 before he noticed it.

If you count buying stuff lower than their "supposed true value", then yes. But the amounts aren't ever that magnificent.

Well not really scammed but the stupidity of the GW community is quite funny. Twice it happened to me that they would pay me for my item in the first trade and in the second trade i would give them their item. Was selling a Q9 Obsidian Blade at the time so i got 100k+125e.

If reselling items for more than they're worth is considered spamming, then yes, I have scammed.

I never have tried to scam anyone, or even think about it.
That being said, if someone was selling a stack of ectos for 1k each, I'd buy them all in a heartbeat and not tell them that they're losing money.

Only time I ever felt like I was scamming ish... was when I was solo farming the ghials staff at like 90k down to 25k days. I could easily get 4 a night. I just kept telling people the guild was farming them and I'd let them know when we got another to sell. Ain...

But never tried to traded someone 100g instead of 100k or anything of the sort.

I've bought stuff truly underpriced only if I really wanted them otherwise I normally tell them they should look up the price.

It's not like I'd ever rob a bank or embezzle in real life. I'm sure whoever I took 50k away from in Guild Wars will eventually get over it, and those people probably have quit the game by now.

I remember once i sold a sword (it was a low level one, about 10kish in price) and i eventually sold it to a noob in Old Ascalon. Long story short, he traded me two mini's for it, then gave me 5k extra and asked me if i could "hold onto the sword and the money so he could get it on a different account." I could've walked away with the sword, two mini's, and 5k profit, but i waited for him to switch chars/accounts, and gave him his gold/sword.

Is it scamming to take advantage of other player's blatent stupidity? I don't think so. I don't do it anyways, because I've made mistakes too when trading...just not ones that stupid.

Edit: just remembered, it was a Draconic Scythe I was trading.

Sure. You won't rob a bank or embezzle in real life. There are actual consequences for that in the real world.

However, I would bet dollars to donuts that you wouldn't hesitate in taking money out of a wallet you found laying on the street. I would expect that you wouldn't hesitate in keeping the extra $5 that the cashier accidentally gave to you but you noticed...

1. I work at a theater, and find money on the ground all the time. Although I've never found more than $5 at once, but the general rule of thumb for all employees is, if it's $10 or less, it's yours, if it's more, lost & found". I also find wallets, palm pilots, credit cards, etc. twice a day at least. I always take them to the lost & found, and I've never taken money out of wallets or anything I've found. The only item of "value" I've found on the ground and kept was a pocketknife.

2. I was at Arby's last week and the cashier screwed up and gave me $10.22 (or whatever) change instead of $1.22, and I pointed out the mistake, because I know if his till was off by $9 at the end of the night he probably would have been in a bit of trouble with management.

So how do you justify your actions? Why the discrepancy?

What in your mind makes you "do the right thing" in the real world yet you turn a blind eye when playing a game?

The closest I have ever been and ever will get is accepting trades where the seller was offering to sell cheaper than the items actual worth.
I have on occasion sold items myself, only to later find out I had sold them way too cheap, so that goes both ways! Never felt cheated by anyone but myself when that has happened.

Telling someone they are selling too cheap before the trade - is very kind!
Telling someone they sold too cheap after the trade - is sadistic!

You make the mistake in thinking I/we have the same morals as you.

Because the real world has consequences and actually makes a difference in people's lives. The Intertubez are not serious business.

Low and behold, about 1/2 hour ago a guy by the name of "Tyrael Swiftblade" tried to scam me out of 54k. was gonna sell a Shield of the Hierophant to him for 60k, he showed 60k, closed trade to "talk to a friend about it" then reopened with 6k showing. I asked him to show 60k, and he got scared, called me a noob, and fled.

My point being, it wasn't me scamming when he offered 10k more than my Obo price, but it was scamming when he tried to bait and switch me.

I didn't scam, he did. He got reported, too.
