With the sparsity of forthcoming information from GW2 I personally would love to have a developers blog dedicated solely to what is going on with GW2 development.
In these early stages there's probably not a lot that can be put in it, but even if it's just weekly, stating what's been worked on so the community can see developments, I for one would really appreciate it.
It would be nice to see where the resources of the game we already love are going, and be able to see the direction the new game is taking.
Developer Blog for GW2.

It's a secret, it's going to stay a secret and the chances of us learning anything about it is very slim to none at all because ANet's too afraid of leaking one smidge of information.
Instead of telling us minor things, we're getting nonsense that is supposed to compensate for it, we're getting skill changes to make us forget about the future... and in the end, all we're getting are headaches.

I'd like to know something besides what they THINK will be good...

Even if it's a day in the office story of one of them it would be fun to read.
"Tried to fix the lightning effect on the last weapon on my list.
Still not working properly but atleast the others of this bunch are done.
Dang I need some coffee"
That's not revealing to much, but it tells us we can expect weapons with lightning effects and that's enough info to keep me wondering for a week or two.
[Edit]
@ above:
So, why not post an image of the deleted monster?
Since it's not gonna be in game we can see it right, atleast we would know what they are working on.
I know I would like to see it, but that's just me.

It's good business to keep the potential consumer interested.
Once they let the cat out of the bag (ie...GW2 WILL be beta tested within a year)
It is only wise to keep the players interested.
Heck, Aion has a Dev page...and it's been in testing for OVER a year.
Not even on the market yet.
IMHO...a Dev page, blog, w/e...would possibly prevent many current GW1 players from abandoning it NOW, if given a glimmer of hope GW2 will NOT carry over the fail from GW1.

It makes sense that they should announce it with a little more info now with D3 announced and on the horizon. The announcement of D3 got me wanting to play D2 again, so maybe if they announced GW2 I'd want to play GW more?
One thing I don't want is for them to take too many suggestions from the average Sardelac poster, for obvious reasons.

I highly doubt it will be a WOW clone...Anet knows the backlash the community would have to such a decision. Still, the assumption that it will be is just further proof that the community needs more information on what is going on. The longer we are denied information the longer we have to speculate for ourselves, which lets face it, is generating a great deal of NEGATIVE publicity for Anet, which I'm sure they actually want to avoid.
Personally I like a little mystery.
Also most game developers have already learned from the mistakes others have found with such blogs in that to much changes over the course of games design and to many assumptions are therefore made by potential customers and eager fans.
e.g
Anet Dev:
Day #154
Can't be arsed with Mesmers anymore. We have decided to axe them.
Community:NOOOOOO!!!!!!
Guru:
New thread:Why are they axing Mesmers!!!!
New thread:Why no Mesmers!!!!
New thread:What the heck...no Mesmers!!!!
New thread:GW2 has no Mesmers!!!!
New thread:No Mesmers in GW2!!!!
New thread:Arrgghhh no Mesmers!!!!
Anet Dev:
Day #155
Actually we have decided to keep Mesmers after all but are removing hammers as a weapon option.
Comunity:NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
...etc, etc, etc
