why ecto's will not go up in price if they nerf shadow form

As said in other threads, it will likely cause the ecto price to rise as some of the paranoia that's being spawned by the SF farm will die away.

The extent of the rise, however, is unknown, and I too am skeptical that the price will rise to pre-SF farm days. The combination of that nerf and the loss of favor might cause paranoia to swing the other way, however...so we'll just have to wait and see.

Playing the ecto market right now has to be one of the biggest gambles in GW right now, outside of Nine Rings.

Im so happy everyone seems to be some sort of gw economy expert. Now if everyone who has been wrong in the past would just shut up, the handful of us left over could have a decent conversation.

You also have to remember that if there are less ecto drops, less people are spamming, which causes more people to have to buy the ectos from the trader. So yes, the price would rise, not quickly, but it will go back up. You have to think of these things like the stock market...buy low, sell high. (Unless they start giving out sub-prime mortgages to the residents of Fishermans Haven, who we all know can't afford them. Then everything goes in the crapper...art imitating life)

you didn't include the ecto sucktion of fow armors >_> not all people buy them just to sell them again x] so when less drop and more are being spent, the price will go up, no sf = less ecto = more demand duh

I have gathered about 400E now. Ill just wait a month and then sell it. Prices will go up.

Before A/E the ecto price was already dropping... and there are more ways to farm plains than just with SF. Obbyflesh eles can do it too.

It is not our fault if you have stacked up a lot of ectos and didint wanted to sell them.
I find this more then righteous to reduce the price of ectos.
I find very idiotic having itens you dont plan to use, specially if they worth a lot.
Now normal players can actually dream to buy their obsidian armor, like me, i am getting myself one at the end of the week.
So stop beeing selfish and get used to the idea that there are more people in this game that want to buy an obsidian armor (buying chaos gloves are not an excuse because they are ridiculously ridiculous and look like a stupid item from those Korean MMO)

Yes, I can confirm that, a guildie just said 4.1K as well and I checked it myself. And UW scrolls cost 2.3K at the scroll trader right now. Favor is rising again atm because it's evening here in Europe. 80min remaining.

This will only be true if demand for FoW armor outstrips the supply of ectos already in the hands of players willing to sell for less than the trader. You are assuming the demand for FoW armor will remain high. I suspect once the prices rise about 500g, demand for FoW will reach an all time low as most people who want it already got the ecto for it over the last few weeks and the few who did not will be unwilling to buy at much over the present value. Low supply does not always translate into high demand.

And yes, they are 4.1 to BUY from the trader (I suspect the price rose a little as people were scrambling to get the last few they needed or wanted before favor ended) but that's not the figure most people are looking at. The figure most people are wanting to know about is what are they worth to sell.

At the moment they announce a SF nerf ectos will go up immediately. And will continue to go up, up to the prices from before the overfarm craze. They will once again become the number 1 currency, stable again, and the world will be saved. GG.

The nerf for SF has not even been implimented and the price jumped up a 1K

It already jumped when the favor dropped below 100mins + the nerf was not yet announced.
