Could someone explain to me what all HAPPENS during the Dragon Festival?

I just got Factions like two weeks ago, and guildwiki doesn't explain much.

I've always liked the dragon festival. And from what you can lead out of the article on the website, and I quote: "a new demonic mask", you'd at least think it really would be a "new" mask.

I'm looking forward to this weekend, although sadly enough I can't come online a lot.
"a new demonic mask" sounds like one more like then one you got last year, and the year before too me

I enjoy all of the festivals. And yes those hints of dragons in GW2 are mighty inviting. But according to the release they just made it dosen't sound to me that we are going to be seeing GW2 untill at least 2009. So enjoy the festival and get a new demon mask, we will undoubtably be here next year too. Oh and don't forget to save all you chef items for that festival, and collectors items for Holloween and Christmas.

in before the lock lol.

There will be a new mask, as already has been posted.
Also, the yearly events will continue as long as GW1 is active. I believe they already said that. (I remember Gaile talking about it once or twice)

Similar event, but not the same. Scroll down to the dragon arena/rollerbeetles; they still apply.
Don't think he mentions anything on luck titles. See wiki for that.

If any is like me they have no Plan to move onto GW2 (expecially after what they did to GW1) so if they close the servers soon as GW2 is released i hope they have fun picking up more players, cus over 550 of my GW online freinds have said there not bothering with GW2 there gonna move onto another RPG/MMO or keep playing GW1.

It's just a way of getting a new mask and making money from selling sweets/party items etc. Do any of you really think that deeply about these events? Heh.

Well.. yes
First of all, be happy that we get events. It's not like it just pops up out of nowhere, at least they spend time making them.

Secondly, it's always fun to party a bit! I love you Mad King!

Wow, this just shot off topic within a couple of posts, so let me clarify its reason for being. This is not a discussion about when GW2 will come out, the question I posited was if anybody else thought they might put a "tie in" between the Dragon Festival and the fact that GW2 will have dragons in it, which we all allready know it does. In everybody's mad dash to post their oh-so-witty remark, you skipped the whole point of the thread.

Looking forward to it! I'm assuming that characters have to be level 5 to participate, so I'm levelling away.

No. People misinterpret the whole "Dragon" Festival thing. The Dragon Festival has nothing to do with dragons. Its about how the Empire of the Dragon survived the Jade Wind (of course the 2007 Festival stopped this and its now about how we won over the demons in the 2006 one).

Besides the dragons dont even rise in our characters lifetime. Nobody even knows they are there so it would be impossible to tie them in.

In the previous years it has been a Factions Only affair.

There are games (Rollerbeetle Racing and Dragon Arena, but I'm not that sure since I wasn't around last year) and; in Shing Jea, there are the boardwalk games, Nine Rings, Rings of Fortune and something related to some hatchlings. All these games allow the players to get lucky/unlucky points and gamer points; the former at a cheaper price than using lockpicks, and the latter can only be avaliavable on events like this, or in Christmas.

The boardwalk games are called like that because they take place on the Shing Jea Boardwalk, which is the very first area that a Factions born player visits as a tutorial. As such, it's also good for exploring titles in case you're not Factions born or didn't explored the area when just starting out.

Shing Jea is the n00b Factions island, much like Pre-Searing and Istan. It's also the only town in this game area.
