Exactly. Wish ANet would allow us to consolidate accounts into one. It would make life easier.

On Topic: I've never transfered large amounts of cash between accounts but I'm always moving stuff from one account to the other. No problems, so far.

Ok, I had my account info compromised, the thief logs onto my account on his PC in Germany (I live in the States), now he's trading all my gold from my account to his, both now have German IP addresses.

Neither account should be blocked cause they have the same IP?

Put something in the trade window each time like a crappy gold item, it wont spark off as much suspicion and will likely avoid the ban.

why even have that much gold, i mean really? why? do you play this game as a job or do you not goto school? its quite pointless to have that much that you need a whole other account just for junk. sorry if it looks like im trollin but its how i feel, not ment to be offiensive in anyway.

agreed...this is counterproductive for anet. it would be helpful if you could link accounts...then again, think of all the hall of monument/account-wide titles threads that would spawn.

This sort of thread just creates fear, uncertainty and doubt. Either the OP is telling the truth and Anet's game administration has truly gone to shit, or the OP is lying about the source of his income and a deserved ban. Until we hear from Anet (which we won't because Anet have stopped paying attention to Guru forums), we have only one side of the story.

Contact support and try to get it resolved. Guru threads about bans go nowhere.

This is solid advice for newer players, but I bought my second account (that is NOT being used as a mule storage, tyvm; it's got active characters on it) a couple of months before the introduction of added character slots. I have invested too much in this second account (an ele with over half a dozen 15k armor sets, a mesmer with FoW and Vabbian, etc.) to just stop playing it.

Recently I did have to transfer some ecto, mats and cash over from my primary to my second account (to get the above-mentioned mesmer's FoW armor), but fearing a ban/suspension, I did it in stages, transfering things in small amounts over with the aid of a friend. I did not get banned.

Also, is it really policy Anet deletes Ebayed items? I won't believe that without seeing evidence for this claim.

I see in one of your posts you used the word "suspended" instead of "ban."

If you were suspended rather than banned it may be they are trying to get a handle on the account hijacking and have suspended the account while they make sure it was not a hijacker taking your gold. Or it may be you were suspended for something other than the gold trade since buying gold usually results in a ban.

Still, it would be nice if ANet could give some kind of response to the seeming rise in hijackings and bannings.

They should stop using bots for automated bans, instead they should use human GMs with at least half a brain to make final verdict. Is it really that hard to realise that if 2 accounts logged in from the same IP it just cannot be a case of real money gold selling?

I figured this was common knowledge by now. Yes, its a flag for gold selling, and people have been getting suspended for this for at least a year now.

I'm not saying this isn't hitting the wrong people, but trading gold in 100k increments is just mangling the word "casual" to a bloody pulp.

Nobody has picked up on what you said right there.

If I'm reading what you wrote right and not getting it switched around...

In essence - with Anet believing this is a suspicious transaction - they banned/suspended the account that received the gold, but not the account that 'sold' the gold.

What does that say about their supposed crackdown on gold sellers? It says they're not touching them...just the stupid people that BUY the gold.

It's like dodgy cops who arrest drug dealers, take their drugs, cut the drugs, then sell the drugs back to the same dealer.

Conspiracy theories ftw?

What I do with my leisure time, and how much gold and stuff I have is no business of yours.

If you had read the other posts you would have discovered that some people bought second accounts BEFORE it was possible to buy more character slots, in order to play more than four characters. The second account is not "just for junk". And again, none of your business how much "junk" I have. I keep a lot of stuff in case guildies should need it.

Lol, Qft

The sad part is they still keep on saying they have a staff "working" on the ban list every day. I gues Anet employs robots then, maybe I should apply for my Kitchenrobot...

Worse even, the bot script is so bad, more innocent people get banned than guilty ones. (Judging from forums)

Simple solution: bigger storage/inventory.

because your run of the mill casual player has over 1000 plat in storage and 100k on each character.

maybe i've just been doing it wrong, because the most i have had in liquid cash/ectos at once was 350k

Anet seems to adopt a "ban first and ask questions later" policy. Which really, really sucks, because it makes me afraid to transfer large sums of money between accounts. This also happened to someone I know. Rawr, it's just plain annoying. They SHOULD be able to tell it's two legit accounts and not a gold seller. *sigh*

Edit to person below me: If you buy a prophecies account, you're getting FOUR character slots, not six. 1.4 million extra gold storage, not 1.6 million.

Try converting some of that extra gold to ecto so you dont have any why of become suspicious. And for those with credit cards you dont need to be going out and buying extra mule account, each account is allowed up to 26 character slots and a slot only costs 10 USD. Dont go out and buy another seperate campaign and pay 40-50 USD try just buying 4 slots at 10 USD that way those characters can access any campaign you have and you still have your mules. Granted you dont get the 1000k storage space but each char can hold 100k plus it is safer then seeing your account get banned for who knows how long.
Your math doesnt work if the Mules job is to hold cash...

Many players are maxed on cash storage. Buying a slot at $10 gives me an extra 100k storage. Buying a Proph account for $29 gives be 1.6M storage 1000k + 6slots(600k)

I don't need to hold 100's of crappy golds, they get merched.

My primary account has storage maxed at 1000k, 10 Characters @ 100k each. I added a new account and have 600k in storage.

I could never play my primary account because I couldn't even pick gold up off of the ground. I would buy a 100k worth of lockpicks to free up money storage on a character then a week or two later it was full again.

Back on topic... I have transfered 600k over the course of a day or two, and had no issues. I did it from two computers behind the same connection so same IP address. I would think this would prevent any ban assuming they look that closely at the facts before swinging the ban stick

just trade 2-5g or some random item to the mule when he gives you the 100k. Thats what I do when people want me to help transfer stuff.

Hypothetically speaking, A.net and NCSoft should be able to notice when you're suddenly logging in from an IP address several thousand miles from your usual.

This is one of the flags that Blizzard looks for with WoW.

Also, for the people who are getting all scoldy about those of us who have two or more accounts: Arena.net did not add purchasable slots until a few months after Factions was in stores. Prior to Factions, we had four character slots on a single account and no way to add more. That is, short of simply purchasing a second copy of Prophecies.
