Warning to players who use a second account as a mule...

...you may be suspended for 72 hours for "buying gold" when you make large transfers. I can only imagine how much of my stuff will be deleted when I finally get to log back in.

I don't see the point in suspending account if u just need to transfer some money to another account.....

but how are anet meant to know if you have bought the gold or if you are putting money on a mule account. Its true what Dzan is saying tbh.

Making a transfer of say, 500k gold from 1 account to another with out trading anything to the account giving the 500k will look like it's someone buying from a gold farmer.

Was the OP doing anything supsicious - like having a third party control their second account?

ANet shouldn't be punishing people for trading between 2 accounts on the same IP. Gold sellers would have to visit your house to achieve that and I'm sure travelling costs would wipe out their profits.

Happened last night. I transferred a couple hundred k over to buy some vabbi armor for a new character and when I woke up this morning I was suspended. The mule was not. How odd? I HOPE the mule doesnt get account banned, but this kinda sucks. I now have 66 hours to kill.

i have both my accounts registered on PlayNC, i dont know if that has kept me away from ban stick..

like someone else suggested, when exchanging gold give something to storage account.

I was aware about this, but I actually still use my other account to store some stuff. Back when I was on 3 accounts (owner claimed his back, I now have limited access to it) I'd be able to trade some stuff between 2 accounts fairly easily with GWx2 - I'd sell stuff and would trade MORE stuff for the gold I bought.

Might actually be a way to make it appear as you're selling/buying stuff when trading cash between accounts.

But I should be more careful anyways. This thread pretty much reminded me about that.

Why do we have second accounts carrying extra gold, its called ecto people, itemize currency that has almost unlimited potential, most games do this if there is a cap to gold in the game that seems to be a bit on the low side, the price in ecto is at a very constant price atm. Try converting some of that extra gold to ecto so you dont have any why of become suspicious. And for those with credit cards you dont need to be going out and buying extra mule account, each account is allowed up to 26 character slots and a slot only costs 10 USD. Dont go out and buy another seperate campaign and pay 40-50 USD try just buying 4 slots at 10 USD that way those characters can access any campaign you have and you still have your mules. Granted you dont get the 1000k storage space but each char can hold 100k plus it is safer then seeing your account get banned for who knows how long.

Ecto looses value faster than gold.

That would make me sad, to get suspended for transferring gold from my mule account, when my mule account and my main account are on the same PlayNC account, and both accounts would be logged in from the same IP...from the same computer.
