Does anyone take the skill Frenzied Defense to any use? I'm just curious. I used it in AB a few times and mainly activated it when I squared off against a melee attacker and when I went in the shrines with rangers and warriors. I haven't noticed anyone else use it. Sure, the double unblocked damage is a let down, but it can be reactivated in little amount of time. How do you all regard this skill? Any builds you can think of that would work well with it?

Nothing, it's bad on a Warrior.
If you need a defensive stance for a Monk, go ZB and take Disciplined Stance.

Warriors should never use self-defense.

Only "decent" solution, in my opinion is to combo it with [protective spirit], which is why there were quite a few monks in RA running [frenzied defense][protective spirit] but [shatter [email protected]] means gg :P

Blocking stances are a waste of a slot. Most require Tactics, which atm is a useless attribute for Warriors. You should always have an IAS up anyway so you'll never have any opportunities to use it. Leave the defence up to the Monks (although SY > PvE), and you'll be fine.

worthless, anywhere, as you'll rarely get hit by only attacks. The few monks i've encountered in RA using it, blew up because the pro of blocking my executioner's was far outweighted by the horrible double damage from lightning orb ect...

on a warrior, your only stances should be to either increase attack or movement speed.

I put it on my bar to kill the doppelganger in Hard Mode, and haven't used it since. It's a crap skill.

It's bad.

Warriors shouldn't be using defensive stances in the first place (blocking stance = no frenzy = less damage... and less damage is retarded)

Even on monks (the only class that should be using defensive shit), it's bad, because there's blocking skills that don't suck available to you instead.

I played with a Warrior using Frenzied Defence in AB this weekend...Don't think it was you since this numpty used it before he charged at an Elementalist... I refused to heal him after that.

I've always seen it as too big a risk. Also, Defensive stances are a waste, since IAS stances on Warriors are way more useful.

It's only good vs a warrior that doesn't have unblockable attacks and those aren't very common

Sins almost always bring something that prevents blocking

(Projectile) Spells are never blocked.

so... it's pretty much useless.

Actually I was in RA fighting a monk without protection spirit on, and I hit 100s on him with auto attack. Poor fellow.

Frenzied defense sucks, though.

To further clarify, in any situation where you have a monk behind you, defensive stances are crap. The only use for them is preventing instagibs in skirmishes, and even then more than one is a waste.

Even a warrior with Weapon of Aggression instead of Frenzy; Signet of Rage hurts.

Shield Bash can be lots of fun if you block an Assassins lead attack, but taking a stance (like [[Frenzied Defense]) that blocks that you intend to keep up 100% of the time, or close enough to it, is a waste of a slot.

Anyways, it was never good, and won't be good as long as people run casters.

I'm big a proponent of [shield bash]. Works wonders against other warriors, dervishes, assassins. If you're looking for defense that's one of the better ones you can pick up. It's always nice to be able to block that first attack against you because more often than not it's either a state applicator or big damage.
