Hi,
I don't really know if this is the correct place to ask about this. But, which screen capturing software do you recommend me?
I want to try making some videos of GW gameplay during this weekend.
I would like to use a Free software, do anybody know any software under GPL that works fine and produce high quality videos?
Thank you all!

Taski is BSD and is as close as you'll get. (don't cite me, I can be wrong about this!)

You can use Gamecam trial version, but it leaves a small logo on the video, and it won't record sound. Fraps has a very low time limit on recorded video for the trial version. WeGame is a beta freeware program that doesn't leave any logos and can record audio, but it has stability problems. I've never looked into GPL programs.
I would recommend Gamecam, personally. Works quite well.

Have you tried the built-in video capture in xfire (http://www.xfire.com)?
Don't know how good it is, but it's free, and you get xfire's functionality as a bonus

Fraps has the most options for video encoding but xfire as a free alternative is much better. you can record in either 100% or 50% screen res and once you finnish recording you can automatically convert the video to flv format and upload it to your xfire profile.
You can also choose to record/ignore sound and cursor movement.
If your after a basic app then xfire is the way to go. most extras in fraps could be done when encoding your final movie if needed anyway, Using the high quality xfire file as a base.
