the most common melee rit is Spirit Strength with the melee weapon of your choice(usually daggers) with weapon of aggression being the weapon spell to trigger spirit strength

You're in luck friend, rits have this fun little skill [Spirit's Strength] makes weilding martial weapons (and even caster weapons) absolutely deadly. Try it with daggers, a scythe, a bow, your wand even!

combine with [Weapon of aggression] for an IAS. [nightmare weapon] for some lifesteal on top of your armor ignoring damage, or [Splinter Weapon] for some brief AoE

otherwise no. They are the same 1.33 as sword+axe

If you increase your dagger mastery, however, you increase your chance to make two attacks at once with a non-skill dagger attack. This means that you, on average, will get a few more attacks in than someone using a sword in the same amount of time as long as you have a reasonable dagger mastery.

I recommend using a scythe with Spirit's Strength, though, for the triple hit feature.

the extra damage from splinter weapon doesnt get the increase in strenth does it? cos its not the actual attack

I'm becoming a big fan of /W or/P for all of the adrenal attack skills.

Half my bar is [weapon of aggression][sight beyond sight][spirit's strength][flesh of my flesh]

Then either [wild throw][blazing spear][barbed spear][spear of lightning]

Or [cyclone axe][dismember][penetrating chop][penetrating blow]

PvE, of course.

I prefer mercyless spear to barbed spear on the /p

It will never beat a proper Warrior or Paragon, because of the armour and the fact they don't rely on an enchantment for damage, but they're good for fun.

Better than IW though.

Rt/A was great, but my short attention span lead to running out of energy as I landed [death blossom] combos. Adrenal skills are nice, I just click buttons when they light up.

The only plus damage self casting weapon spell is [brutal weapon], which doesn't work if you are enchanted. So use a weapon spell that helps in other ways. Or grab a buddy with [great dwarf weapon].

The best weapon to use with Spirit's Strength is probably the Spear or Dagger, but Scythes make RIDICULOUSLY huge numbers.

Rt/A, Rt/D with [spirit's strength].

You can find some build on this forum. You just need to search a bit.

you can get the pve skills like covah said, and also take Ghost Forge insignias, they give a nice +15 armor while affected by a weapon spell, which if you're using [spirit's strength] should be pretty much all the time.

I prefer more HP than armor. You can get around armor with penetration or ignore damage, but a bigger red bar will always be there.
