UW smite run nerfed?

Yesterday I was doing some smite farming. I either had a string of bad luck or I believe the run to have been nerfed. I had 7 ectoless runs in a row, also when ecto did drop I never received more than 1 in a run, this was taken on about 25 runs. I am only wondering if others are experiencing this or was it a run of bad luck? The only reason I am posting this is I also have noticed a spike in the price of ectos, at the trader, and 7 dry runs in a row is not random.

I haven't noticed a trend, of course I haven't played UW much lately. But what used to work is, as I said earlier, go farm a different place with your monk. Then go back and try it.

Look, I'm not sure what other useful info you're going to get here. You're obviously just having some bad luck, and just like someone will get 7 ectos in one run, you're getting 7 runs with no ectos.
Just stop farming for a bit and go do some missions/vanquishing and see if your drops don't reset.

25 runs isn't that much ...

Infact, i was very lucky yesterday with my 55/SS runs. Did only 4 runs, but got 6 ectos in total. Sounds like bad luck to me.

Nope, I havent noticed any drop in ecto rates. Did a "short" UW run of about 6 hours with a 4 man guild group to see if we could clear the UW (damn 4 ponyriders + exhaustion got the better of us in the end)

As that wasnt actually fast or in any way a farming run, we still recieved 8 ectos and about 25 golds (including Scrolls).

Ecto drops are still random... it just sounds like bad luck you had there.

Not quite sure, just did 8 UW runs and got only 1 ecto and few other drops (e.g. white crap, 1 purple, 1 gold). Somehow seems like it's been nerfed, to me at least. I usually get 1 ecto per 3 runs at worst.

Just remembered. Had another run earllier as 55/SS duo

My partner had 2 ecto, 3 key and a black dye drop for him, whereas I only had one gold and 2 Lockpicks drop.

over the past few days, randomly did 25 uw smite runs
1. 2 ectos
2. 4 ectos
3-12. 0 ectos
13-25. 1-2 each run

only 25 runs, gotta be patient, wheter the rate is low/dropped/same it's still worth it.....just frustrating when you go almost ten runs with no ecto.

Here's my theory on UW smite runs :
-From your 1st to 5th run you get an average of 1.5 ectos per run.
-Starting from run #6 you start getting UW scrolls, and when that starts to happen, you stop UW'ing and go do something else. What also happens is that you get 1 sapphire ( I always get 1 in the same spot ), means the same thing as the UW scrolls.
-If you continue on farming, I also found out that my lack of concetration causes me to screw up the runs due to "boredoness".

To sum it up : do not farm UW more than 2 hours, its no profitable.

This exact same thing has been happening to me. In fact, I was going to make a thread about it soon. I have done 40 runs and gotten only 11 ectos. This is over the past 3 days. I have been using the W/Me Tripple Chop build. I went 8 runs without getting any ecto, and only on 1 run have I recieved two. However, some alliance members were duoing HM UW and got 6 ectos from the Aataxes alone in 4 runs.

honestly i do 4 uw runs a day on my w/rt 2 in the morning when i wake up, and 2 at night before i go to bed...i ALWAYS get 1 ecto per run(seriously cant remember my last ectoless run) and sometimes i get 2 ectos per run or a ruby or sapphire or something like that...idk but this seems to be the best set plan for me farming wise as 20k per day(approx) isnt bad at all

Did 3 W/Rt runs yesterday out of boredom; 2 runs where I got 2e each, one dry run. Went in with an 8-man group, didn't get one either.

My record is 19 consecutive dry runs... I was on the verge of giving up.

Did A-net nerf Elite tome farming

I was farming bosses yesterday and went 25 runs without getting an elite tome. did Anet nerf the drop rate OMG WTF Q Q

Took me 30+ runs soloing Ghail to get ghails staff for my necro - Did they nerf boss drops?
I did a UW clear and didn't get a single ecto until the end chest. - Did they nerf UW clears?
I have vanquished whole areas w/o a single gold (including chests) - Did they nerf Vanquishing
It happens stop crying everytime you have a dry spell

I went on a 55/SS run yesterday and a total of 8 ectos dropped (5 for 55, 3 for me).

It's just random. Next thing you know you'll get two ectos dropping from one Coldfire and Nightmares shards. Who knows?

I never get ectos from smites anymore, I've probably gotten 1 or 2 in 50+ runs
