Sure Anet could give them a certain pet if they chose to. Rare minipets were handed out during the Mini Mania contest. The same method used to reward those contest winners could likely be used to hand out gifts to selected players(without the need for an open and fair contest).

I don't know how the years are counted, but I got my current Guild Wars account (and thusly started my oldest character) on April 20th 2006. So it would follow that I would get my two year mini on April 20th, right? Well, imagine my surprise when I logged in as that character on April 18th this past weekend and discovered a two year B-day present in my characters inventory. It might not be the devs playing favoritism, but just the GW computer system miscounting 1,096 days, counting this past February's leap day of course. |
