Add an extra account-based Bday gift.

Just one for each year on top of that of single characters' birthdays.

I deleted my first ele at the age of 9 months, I've been playing this game for 35 months, but the oldest character I have is 31 months.

Wouldn't hurt anyone to give out 1 Extra account-based Bday gift.

Ah, but the presents are specifically for your character birthdays, not your account. It's not Anet's problem that you deleted your first character, knowing that you may miss out on a present or two.

Either way, I do agree somewhat that an account-based present or other bonus would be nice, but at this time (since the game has been out for 3 years already) there is pretty much no chance that Anet would institute such a thing. Maybe something to look forward to in GW2?

i agree we need a account based present cause i have been playing this game since the beta i didnt know anything about the mini's when i deleted my ranger i had since the beta.

I'm in the same boat, my account is 33 months old, but my oldest character is only 26 months. But I don't think they should add something else just for us who didn't keep our characters, it's supposed to be a reward for those who do. I wouldn't want them to cheapen it, just because I want one sooner.

Seriously though, do the math, I deleted my first character at the age of nine months, a year is 12 months. How could I know about a Bday gift?

The gifts were meant to Treat those that did not delete their characters.

I wouldnt mind seeing a gift for accounts but not minis. Maybe some new weapons or an extra char slot or something. 3yr old acount gets a free slot sounds pretty cool to me.

In that case there could be a PvP-like account wide non-maxable title showing the years of the account.

I like this idea very much, Infact whne i first found out about Birthday gifts i thought it was account based anyway.

but the problem is he didn't know he was going to get a bday present at 9 months. How could he have? An account based present wouldn't hurt but the presents are especially for charecters....so....

Birthday presents are for people who are emotionally attached to their toons, or people who are willing to live with the mistake of choosing to be Warriors (for instance) when they could have been Rangers.

I /sign for this idea, My account is 21 months old and my oldest character is 18 months old, deleted my 3 oldest characters sadly, had no idea where minis came from at the time, or else I would have kept them even with the crappy names and choices I made. Even if I kept my oldest characters, I'd still sign, not for the free item(s) but for those who did delete their first characters.

It may not be so in the case described in the OP.

In many cases though, it kind of is. Because lots of people deleted characters before their 1st birthday, before the 1st Birthday presents were known to exist. As such, they lost out on getting their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Birthday presents on those characters that they otherwise would have gotten if they had known Anet was going to be giving out Birthday presents starting with the 1st Birthday. Then they never would have deleted those characters.

For that reason, an account-based present is totally fair and should be implemented.

I think most players are emotionally attached to their toons in some way, PvE or PvP. They invested a lot of time in their character, like their equipment, like their name, like their look, whatever. Let someone delete your oldest toon and tell me that it doesn't bother you.

Strangely enough, you don't think someone should be emotionally attached to pixels, but you support the idea of getting a pixel birthday present early. It's just pixels. Can't spend pixel gold in the real world, or play Barbies with your pixel Gwen.

I'll /sign that. Have my character slots maxed, and would like more. Don't want to spend more money, as I already have 14 characters. Won't happen though.

Although it would be nice, and my 34 month old account would get something, I don't think there is ANYTHING needed, and the only things WANTED vary from person to person. Make a new weapon as the present, the people with req 7, perfect weapons aren't happy yhey just got a req 9.
