HardMode - Anet's failure to code better AI and give full skillbars. No, just higher numbers and an autoIAS.

It gave me something newer to do, but it was mainly a factor of being bothered to do it.

It could've done with better AI to be honest.

OMFG this is like, totally awesome!!!11!!2!!1!#

Who cares, really? Your threads are all +1's, and yet never get deleted? Hard Mode is Hard Mode, why should this day change that?

As you can see, my simple post has opened up possible discussion on 3 things. Yours struggle to make 1, at best.

No it didn't. Nothing about HM made it new content. You have the same monsters, the same areas etc. All that changed was a little number next to their name, the text on some titles and the speed at which HM monsters moved/attacked and activated skills. All you are doing, theoretically, is redoing the same content again.

Can anyone give me one thing that meant hard mode was a totally unique idea, and not recycled trash?

Here is a new idea...

When entering a zone in hard mode that has been vanquished by all party members all foes are removed and replaced with random spawning bosses(5-10 per map based on size). These bosses are lvl 35 and killing all of them will drop a map chest with a single rare item for each party member in it.
I hope that won't work with people who have not cleared it . But would be nice, easier cartographer *I already have it anyways* and much easier to enjoy the scenery of those areas.

o please youre being overdramatic, hard mode makes things more interesting, even if all they did was just make them do the same things except faster and stronger.

It's been a fun year! The only thing I can criticize HM's implementation is that they missed a golden opportunity to make the Mesmer class more attractive to the less enlightened PvE players.

Guild Wars doesn't have an economy and it never has, never will, and never could have anyway. You can't have an economy when almost the only things of value in it are vanity items. The only people who were ever going to get rich were the ones on the ground floor for new items. That's not really any sort of economy worth speaking of.

Anyway, I almost always only do things in HM anyhow.

If having a party wipe a couple more times than usual means things are more interesting to you - then, sure.

Maybe a lot of things HM-related broke the game (Ursan, overdroppage of rare stuff), but I don't play the game to see how many ele swords (ok, they're worthless now) I could farm. For me, HM finally brought something new the game. yaaaay

They could've:

- Produced an intelligent AI-system.
- Re-done all the skillbars to be effective, and synergize with the rest of the mob (see: EOTN groups).
- Maybe added new, powerful monster-only skills.
- The above on top of what we have now (stronger, faster monsters).

And anything else you can think of that would improve the AI and enrich the fights.

I don't care if that would've been alot of work. Hard Mode was Anet's chance to give us some really good, new content that was actually hard. As it stands, they may as well have not bothered.

Nice, but HM to me is just nice. Its nice...but not altogether fun. I prefer normal mode as its less stressful and just easier giving me time to enjoy the moment. I guess I would like HM if I didn't have to heroway everything, but sadly theres never enough people to HM things. Otherwise it would be cake.

Think about Sorrow's Furnace. That was beyond expectations apparently.

If they took more time with the AI, HM would have been alot better.
