Fixed a bug that sometimes caused Dervishes to appear in avatar form after dying while using an avatar skill. |
So they can once again enter districts where nobody can put their name in All Chat, because it contains disallowed characters.
I can see it now..."HELP ME SOMEONE IS SCAMMING ME BUT I CANT SAY HIS NAME!"
<.< Genius >.> real genius
Edit: at above post; go check bug forum. As soon as a PvP bug was discovered, a post for Anet staff asking about it. Now let me just browse through the list of bugs I've posted there, and seen posted there, about PvE and other stuff. Guild Hall Glitch, Avatar Bug, Henchmen and heroes acting retardedly, countless areas with portals you can sneak past, broken terrain and textures...*sigh*
Nevermind.

This bug has been around since NF was introduced, and from when I checked last week, it's still there. A Dervish who is in Av form before a cut scene won't be in Av form immediately after. Even if the scene is "skipped". Even if the form was entered just prior to the scene. Worse still, if the form is entered just prior to the scene, the form will be gone, and the skill will be disabled for 2 minutes after the end of the cut scene. Honestly, it's not like it's insignificant. It's an entire line of elite skills taken out of play by piece of window dressing! I know fewer people are working on GW1 atm, but this really deserves being looked at.

What this means is that if player A is found breaking the EULA in some way and plays on a Taiwan server, ANet can't do anything about it.
However, if they play on an American server, then they fall under ANet's power-so if they break the EULA they can get smacked with the ban hammer. However as to why they picked America's server I'm not sure-any other server would've done just fine-so long as it's not a Taiwanese server. |
By placing Tawian on US servers, A.net can bipass Tawianize law.
Also, only accounts "in good standing" will be transfered. Bots are presumably still locked out.

Botters could always buy new american accounts anyway, its' not like this makes a difference in the long run on that front.
In RA I can see a "Traditonal Chinese" district under Asia, so presumably they can keep their districts, chinese names etc. They are probably considered "Taiwan" region as far as the game code goes, just the servers they are running from are now in the U.S.
