Nolani and Event Items

Been away for a while with a new baby, and finally I've been able to get back to a little bit of gaming. The last few weekends have lent themselves to farming event items. My first thought was to go to Nolani and farm the place to Hell...but to my surprise, nothing dropped. Event items are immune to loot scaling...or so I thought. Nolani = Nerfed?

My Guildies let me know that Nolani has been completely nerfed for a long time. Poor drops, and from what I've seen, no event items either.

So I decided to give the Raptors a try...no problems there. Great drops.

Nolani = Very easy farm = Nerfed
Raptors = Very easy farm = Not nerfed
(I'm sure there are several other examples...Trolls, Griffins, Minos)

Question is, why aren't the Raptors nerfed as well? Is Nolani broken?

i farmed nolani for about an hour and got like 50ish event items and loads of charr carvings to trade for more...

It appears that I'm nerfed in Tyria.....

I see wierd thing happen in Nolani, sometime when i farm there i go see the boss type just before i open the door and when i open it he is no longer there

The boss sometimes decides to run away and try to get to you from the backside, where you are supposed to leave from in the first place.

if you do any one area a lot then you get the lootscaling thing (yeah removed right....) during the event weekend I did the gargoyle farming in nolani---got lots of charr carvings from the local charr, not so many skulls though.....so instead I went to my other area--serenity temple to farm the stone eles---not only did they not drop granite or lodstones, but NOTHING else either --no coins, no useless items..nothing.....but I kept on---got to the mesmers and well I wound up with 25 stormy eyes from my first run (guess I will store them until wintersday)....and not much else.

had much better luck doing the snowman dungeon for event drops.

We're you solo or h/h farming? Coz H/h steal your drops.

I sometimes have that more than half the "army" is missing. And that is with just looking over the wall, without pulling the lever yet.
Strange times..

Just solo the stone eles in Old Ascalon. Not spectacular, but nice variety of materials including granite & charcoal, dye, occasional ruby (twice), quite a few stackables, and not bad with event drops.

That is normal mode. I find hard mode in that area gives lousy drops with no event items.

Some evens/event items had different drop rates in NM and HM (about half droprate in NM), it may be the cause in this case. I haven't bothered with NM this weekend so I don't know if it happened this time or not.
