If you somehow lost all your characters...

I read a thread a few days ago where people were talking about characters they wouldn't delete (or something like that), and a lot of people said that thay didn't want to lost all the time they put into titles and stuff. It made me think, if I lost all my characters, perhaps due to hackers, vengeful ex-friends (seriously, it happened to a friend), or whatever, would I try to rebuild my main or focus on another profession and make that my main?

What would you do? Personally, I think I'd play a War, but I wouldn't say he'd be my main, not sure I'd bother with the monk either. I'm a diehard ele fan, so I'd probably go with the Ele main.

Id probably try to recreate my main character, my ranger. Itd be fun to play him through prophecies again, plus Id still have all my account based titles! yay for r2 Unlucky!

Well first of all I'd probably break down crying for several hours...or days...

however if I had to start over i'd probably go back to my first love the ritualist, I've actually had the urge to make a new one lately, but don't have the char slots for it

lol all that's assuming losing the last 2 years worth of play time didn't disillusion me into leaving GW altogether.

First I would QQ for about a month. Then I would get mad and consider uninstalling GW. Finally, I would get bored and start rebuilding another Monk.

i'd remake my main with the same proffession/looks as it was before. i don't know what i would do without my cute little warrior. T-T

I'd make a paragon

I currently consider my ritualist my main character. He has an insane number of 3 maxed titles (survivor, C1 and Factions Missions & Bonuses) - and he has the coolest action animations and the pretties armours. I am always IDing the golds on him too - although there is no way I hell I'd EVER get this title maxed but hey - it gives me something to do!
So if I were to lose all my guys - I'd remake him first and then do a mesmer also.
Maybe later re-do some of the other guys - because I like their pretty armours (by other guys I mean the necro, paragon and warrior)!

I would make a ranger, always wanted to play ranger, but somehow he would always be neglected sooner or later in favor of my other lvl 20 chars...

Also would make a mesmer.

I didn't vote and I'm not really sure I can. My "main" is something I pretty much feel into.

I started playing about 2 months after release, however my main is a Dervish (obviously not remotely one of my oldest characters). She happened to be created at a time when I was playing with builds and offered me the largest variety of new ones (since Nightfall was new and I was at square one with her). By the time I had got as tired of her as I had with the others her titles were so far advanced from the others that if I was wanting to simply do something to advance a title she does it. Once those titles are maxed when I get bored then the others get some rotation, but I don't play *that* many hours so they get pretty much left behind.

As of now I would probably balance play time/titles between a Dervish, Necromancer, and Elementalist as they are my three favorite classes. Up until the release of Nightfall I pretty much split everything between a Warrior, Necro, and Ele - the Dervish just replaced the Warrior. Then again I've found my Paragon to be really interesting now that I can have her and two Paragon heroes (but, again, hard to spend time when she is fourth in line and WAY behind the others in titles/items and the few hours I have to play).

Though I imagine one single character would eventually come out as my "main" but, like the Dervish, it would more matter on which one circumstances made me play more (were I too guess, my Ele as it is currently my least played due to being the furthest behind yet it is my main farmer and would rapidly need access to areas for gold). But then, it may very well be the Dervish again since I know it better than all the others. I can only point to classes I don't like to play (Rit, Monk, and to a lesser extent a Mes - though the Mes *may* get into the mix were I to restart as of right now).

Actually, it isn't so much titles as mini-pets at this time. Outside of my Dervish, Necro, and Ele none of the others have done enough to worry about. Yet all are made before and up to the release of Nightfall - I don't want to loose the later series mini-pets even though I prefer other character skins. I rather enjoy rolling new characters but the mini's pretty much kill that (not that I'm complaining either - I like getting the mini's also).

If I had to start from scratch again ... I just wouldn't. 4000 hours of character development is enough for one game. GW2 is on its way and until then there's always PvP.

I'd probably quit GW's

Started with a war and got most play time on him. If he got deleted I would start a necro and name him Darrell Dimebag, a musician that some of you might have heard. I mean Pantera+male-necro-dance=_o_

I'd uninstall.

I'd be rather PISSED by loosing 3 sets of obby armour and 3 sets of chaos gloves.
But I really think I would remake my mesmer in pve, but rest would just be pvp chars.

I would recreate my ranger, because she was my first charrie. But the rest is so dusty they are QQing that I neglect them, and the charries I do play with are PvP charries

There should be like a fourth option for the people who don't feel any of the above choices apply to them, like me. If my characters got deleted I'd probably just stop playing GW since I hardly play anymore anyway. If I'd still play I'm in dubio between my current main as Warrior or a main as Monk since those are the two classes I enjoy playing the most. I simply can not decide between them without the situation actually occuring.

cause seriously. if my account got hacked and all my stuff was deleted... I'd give a biiiig EFF YOU GW. I'M OUT! and go play something else till GW2 (since that will technically just be a whole start over).

agreed. when i first looked at the choiced for the poll i was looking for "would just quit" but i didn't see it so i picked "start the same prof over" (although in all honestly i would just quite shortly after from realizing that i am not willing to invest another 4k+ hours for GW ever again [at least for GW1 xD])
