Hey, i just started to do a bit of ecto farming in UW today with my W/Rt. I did 4 runs and only got 4 ectos, but i also got a crap load of event items. I used to get atleast 2-3 ectos per run when doing that farm, but one per run is almost not even worth doing it. Do the event items drop in place of ectos, or other rare items?

How is getting 1 ecto per run not worth doing it? Covers your costs and a fair bit more...

Don't know about the event items replacing others, but I'd guess that they do, assuming the system first works out whether there will be a drop, then what that drop does from a pre-determined list.

Event items are exempt from loot scaling and do not replace any regular drops. Instead, they are added in addition to whatever normally drops. This can be observed when a foe drops two items, both a regular drop for that area, plus an event item.

To the OP: I think they just add the event items to every mobs loot table, they dont have to take something out to put something else in..

Both event items are completely separate from the usual drops. So 1 single mob can drop even 4 items, I've seen that happen last weekend - a crap white + ale + clover + a skill tome! Yes, skill tomes also are treated separately from the usual droptables.
