Need some context to give any adequate answer.

I can say the only people that go instantly to ignore in game are really bad spammers of some variety or another, be it language, racist or immature things, or sales. Given we only have the 10 slots for ignore, I just cycle through and take a few off that have been on there forever and put a couple on.

In the forums, everyone has their fair say. I have never ignored anyone on a forum anywhere. May have replied to them directly, disputed or noted where I disagreed, but I see no point for ignore on a forum. Have fun with replies? Well sure sometimes, but I dont flame very often, I rather tend to share my view and where I agree or disagree.

In-game jerks almost always just do a hit and run and then ignore you before you ignore them. So what's there to do really? It would be interesting to see a more evolved jerk that could actually carry a conversation, but I haven't seen any yet.

If people are obviously being ridiculous, I don't mess with them. Report them if need be on the forums.

If they really don't know something and are just incorrect, I'll help.

I'll try to help someone with a legitmate question or I might tell a beggar to go out and kill something.

As for the Hey everybody $#@#$% banter, well, I can't really be bothered. /ignore.

If it's someone needing help, I usually just don't say anything, though yesterday I actually gave a lot of help to a fellow Ritualist who asked about which quest he was supposed to do next; ended up giving him a bunch of tips for the class. One of the rare occasions that I do kind things for people.

If someone's begging, I mock them, and hilarity ensues for all listening.

If someone's arguing with me, I generally crush their feeble attempt at a debate.

If someone argues and uses racism, sexism, etc; I take advantage of that to take a screenshot and tell PlayNC about it.

No thanks. There is hardly a topic here worth discussing and what there is has been thoroughly explored in a hundred other threads. Though, like all content-free threads recently, I am sure this will inexplicably accrue a dozen pages of comments.

If its something funny or interesting, I'll stick around for a while and maybe even join in the convo if I'm intrigued enough. If its some rant/drivel I ignore it or if I'm offended enough, report it and move on.

Depends on what they say. Spammers and people who irritate me by begging for help or money or whatever get ignored. People who are genuinely newbish I try to help unless they cross that line and start to irritate me by begging. People who are just wasting my time I don't respond to, as most of them will go away. Those that don't go away get ignored.
