Health only helps you survive, doesnt makes you more effecient, infact it makes you less effecient. You should sacrifice it whenever you can afford to infavour or more damage, even if you lose 75hp for 3 extra damage its worth it assuming of course you can survive.

All depends on the situation and in most pve situations ive found i havent ever needed more than390hp - 450hp on my Warrior/Monk. Why have more useless health to heal when you can just stay alive with mending+healing breeze?
I don't see how sacrificing 75 health to get 3 extra damage points would make it worth it.

Mending and healing breeze...why don't I just run with an empty skill bar and see how that goes.

I really hope that was a joke.

playing as a monk, its really freaking annoying when you find someone on your team has less than ~500hp as when they get hit, about 1/4 of their health bar drops. this either results in them dying very quickly or monks overhealing, making them run out of energy faster.

the benefits of that +3 in whatever attribute is next to nothing against the 75hp that the character would have had with just +1.

i would probably run my monk with 550+hp but seeing as i dont have enough room for 2 armour sets along with all my shields n stuff for pvp play, I just stick with the pvp gear and monk with 610-640hp.

QFT. It also makes you the aggro magnet and gives the monk less time to catch you before you get killed.

Also your health looks mighty fine with DP when you are sub 450 at normal.

The reason for high health in PvE has little to do with any real edge, but with AI focusing on low health casters.

This is the primary reason that monks should have very high health among members of the group. While PS and similar nonsense can nulify the damage taken, it's always disadvantageous to have monk non-stop knocked down, hexed, stripped, and annoyed by every mob.

For other casters it's similar. Prot can keep them alive, but they'll get banged on, interrupted and overall harassed.

Overall experiences have shown that running high health reduces this. And, having high health will prevent random deaths, such as various sieges or huge AoEs. There's plenty of AoE hits that strike for 500, but almost none that would hit for 600+.

Low health is why people get party wiped by bosses. SY and TNTF aren't permanent, and while it makes a ton of difference, it's not a silver bullet.

PS: The only thing I play in PvE is balanced (means, bring anything you want, we have para, necro and prot monk) HM. So if there's things that work better in NM, or Ursanway or any of the other variants, such as bonders, etc., there might be other better builds.

I must be damn good to be living easily with 450hp in hard mode. A blind warrior can't do damage and a dazed caster can't get a spell off.

Depending on the build and weapon set according to that build - it'll range between 490 and 550.

First of all, a superior rune is a lot more then 3 extra damage, especially on certain classes (eles with AoE over time start really piling on damage).

Second of all, there actually are screenshots of people who got masters in a Factions mainland missions with 6 warriors and 2 monks, with none of the warriors having a single skill on their bar. Just to show you that PvE is easy.

550 generally for my ele (I can't be bothered to keep swapping out survivors for geomancers when I want to stop farming) and 600+ on my para.

So a blind warrior can't hit you (90% of the time) and a dazed caster can't spike you? What about when you've got mesmers spamming Cry of Frustration, or a mob of Raptors spamming Disrupting Stab? How you going to blind/daze them then? Seeing as you have under 450 HP, you will be the focus, and you will die. Play moar plz

I aim for 500-550 on my PvE chars, but frankly I've never noticed that +/-50 or even 100 health make all that much difference. Exception being, like someone said, spiking canthan ritualist bosses in HM (like that bastard on the bridge outside Senji's Corner - is that the hardest-hitting boss in the game?), or if you get DP.

Raptors use enchantments. Blinding surge > all of GW:EN (seriously, the charr are SO EASY because of this and everybody using Conjure Flame).

Daze is applied via rangers with BHA.

455 HP sup damage ftw , usually running infront tanking like a strong ele should.

Never really been a HP fan, even in pvp i avoid survivors like the plague.

I think having low HP and high AL works well in pve, i tend to take all the heat away from the retard hench ball-up brigade.

625 or 655 on my Warrior depending on if I'm running Axe/Sword+Shield or Hammer.
