What Ele against Destroyers?

Now, I'm not talking about "destroyer core solo farming", but what's the most effective element against destroyers, and what build works best against them, when playing as a group?

I think air is OK, since it can easily keep up cracked armor and blind, and does OK damage to them too.

What's your opinion?

I'd like to hear different views about "how to kill destroyers effectively" ^^

Joking of course. I'm wondering the same thing as well.

well, this is how i play GW:

i use fire eles with massive AoE. no matter what their "immunity" is to fire, they still go POOF and die in quite literally 6-7 seconds (not just a single target, i mean an enitre group). get them while they're balled up and voila (if not balled up well, they still die pretyt damn fast since most caster destroyers stay balled up anyways).

some skills i recommend would be rodgort's invocation, savannah heat, fire storm (YES, fire storm. the AoE is '36 x 10 x 2 - armor against fire'. obviously, this is a huge amount of damage. why? well b/c you're not just obliterating them with FS, you've also got other AoE going off simutaneously that does insane damage)

but hey... this is just how i played and got all my maxed titles in virtually no time at all with no effort required. ^^


if it helps at all, when i kill destroyers, i set my heroes to use 2 SH and 2 FS onto the caster that is in the center-gravity (so to speak) of the group and then change my teams focus onto their melee (their warriors) asap. by the time you drop both of their warriors (for the most part they come in groups of 2, and they should both drop simutaneously assuming you have at least 1 hero with low health to make sure s/he holds aggro) the group of casters will be dead from SH and FS.

why should both warriors die at the same time? well, as i said, have 1 low healthed hero so that aggro will stay on him/her, and then focus all your firepower onto the warriors and the AoE will kill them both at roughly the same time.


the above said takes a bit of practice, but, if pulled off right, you can do any and everything with this method (i say this b/c i got legendary guardian/skill hunter/vanquisher/cartographer with all the team-builds [2 ele heroes, 1 monk hero])


edit: ok, i left a bit bit of vital info out that will make more sense to how this works. but, seldomly it will be 9-12 seconds to wipe their party, NOT always 6-7. 6-7 is assuming you get 40/40 casts and +1 casts often with your 2 ele heroes. ^^

Fire is still viable against Destroyers - I use Mind Blast to churn out Great Dwarf Weapon on all my physicals, as well as the odd Ward vs. Melee/Foes.

Really, the important thing to remember is that whatever you do as an ele, your damage against Destroyers is gonna be pretty bad; you're better off taking things to support your (physical attacker-heavy) team - Weapon Spells, defensive Wards, melee shutdown hexes and conditions, Ebon Vanguard Wards - stuff like that.

That, or make use of the 3 other elements that you have. Smart ele uses right element for given situation.

Yes.. well.. I do the same, i use fire ele ALWAYS.. but when I face destroyers, it just doesn't work.. they take 10% from fire dmg, so if spell does 100 dmg, they take 10, and all.. I mean ALL destroyers are immune to burning, so that goes there too..

I was just wandering that 6-7 second BOOM with destroyers.. I'd like to see that... really ^^

Destroyer groups are physical heavy with no condition removal and suffer under blind. Earth is good if you want to keep the battle flowing by controlling the AoE flee response within a warded context, Air is better if you want to go down the bodyblock and nuke route.

I shoud choose for a Air build
With Blinding Flash, lightning orb , lightning hammer and that armor penetration.... But u need ENERGY STORAGE... Lightning orb = 15 E Lightning hammer=25 E maybe Air Attunement+Elemental Attunement?
