Matching Shields for Obsidian Edge + Emerald Blade

I know its kinda early to discuss this, but might as well plan early

Here's what the topic is about, I was wondering which shield will go well with the new swords from the previous update, namely Obsidian Edge and Emerald Blade.

They aren't dyable, which kinda narrowed down the list of shields that matches. Currently the only one that I could thought of will be an Emblazoned Defender dyed black to go with Obsidian Edge.

Any thoughts?

depends on the persons tastes, they might like tormented, they might like mursaat, they might like an exalted aegis.

I agree there is no set pieces that need to go with anything. It's all preference and really I'd rather be of a different look than every other noob running around. Which I am I use the best shield in the game already Merkis Gaze. You know the one with the skull face and the spikes sticking out of it. <grin> and there are no better swords than the Firey Dragon and Icey Dragon swords. <grin>

btw its Merki's Gaze and it's not the best. its only the best for tanks

And there should be some more added...
There are several Briar Weapons.
Wouldn't it be nice if there where a Briar Axe...
Combine that with the Oaken Aegis and you would have a very nice
weapon set.

Well depends on the definition of BEST.
Is it the stats? In that case any (non unique) shield will do cause they come in all desirable stats.
Is it the skin? Well thats just a matter of taste!
Is it the rarity/ value? In that case nothing beats a req9 or less -5 20% Magmas Shield.....which in my opinion would go great with the obsi blade.

But thats just what it is.......my opinion!

also looking for a shield with the emerald,if only tormented could be dyed green....

Most people have no idea what "matching" means. They will just put tormented and chaos gloves and obs helmet and look like clowns. But we should not discuss tastes so I'll just shut up.

Obsidian + Gothic defender.. Emerald blade + Bladed shield imo.

Sure is, thats why everyone is so excited about these new weapon skins. More to mix and match.

For Emereald Blade, I'd say a tormented shield using texmod to change it's color to a greenish, or maybe a Diamond/Iridescent Aegis dyed Silver+Green.

Obsidian edge looks good with the following shields dyed black: darkwing defender, gothic defender, guardian of the hunt, mursaat shield, enameled shield, emblazoned defender, gloom shield, undead shield, aureate aegis, and plated shield.


Emerald blade looks good with these shields (you'll have to play around with the dyes to get the colors to match the emerald blade): diamond aegis, tengu shield, ornate shield, bladed shield, iridescent aegis, tall shield.

I think the obsidian edge and Tormented Shield look good together. The pitch of the black they use matches up pretty well.

I am quite sad that Draconic Aegis isn't dyable. It seems to have great potential of being matching with many nice weapons in game if it is dyable.

Gloom shield dyed Silver + Black? /win.
