The similarities are minuscule at best. Some people just look into things far too much in order to bridge a connection.

I see a possible 10% relation... but no, I don't see it... perhaps an idea used and totally changed a lot... that's the case that I see.

Even if they did look similar (which I don't believe they do), it wouldn't be considered a pop culture reference.

That armor isn't really something special from Xena. It looks like a generic guard to me. Nothing that anyone would care about or recognize. And while there happens to be a guard wearing it in that show, I'm sure you could find at least three other shows with very similar armor designs, and all four of them probably found something similar in some history book.

Mesmer chakrams are closer to a Xena pop-culture reference.

They're no where remotely close to each other. They may have well been inspired by any other suit of armor ever made.

The breastplate and gauntlets are scaly and looks nothing like the Silver Eagle armor. The jaw on the guard's helm is also lower and resembles jaws more then a beak.

I think you're really grasping at straws here.

Only similarity I see is that they are both sets of armour, apart from that they look totally different.

They both look like they're made of metal that's the only similar feature I can really see and even then one is made up of pixels and one is made of fake metal so the people acting (do they act in that show?) can actually move.
