The area west / north of Umbral Grotto ~ Will is be anything?

The area of the map I have highlighted. Will this end up being anything?

I know GW2 was supposed to be the next thing out, but this area is so big when you zoom iin on it and with the other island there as well. I find it hard to believe this is just going to be an empty area of the map.



Thoughts?

I certainly hope we will see a use of the island in the top left corner in the future

Well they never said they wouldn't release extra content for GW once GW2 was out, people just assumed...

But I don't think you should read too much into it, probably just wanted to fill the map out

To be honest, I actually thought the Great Destroyer was going to be "in" that island. When they originally upgraded the in-game map I was impressed, now not so much. If they don't do anything nice with all the space it will be a complete waste.. almost 1/4 of the map non-explorable.

would be nice to use the rest of the map (since its there already), but am thinking that the muses says NO as the crew is hard at work on gw2---(well thats their answer to everything these days why not for this as well).
some new content would also be great seeing as well do have some time before the next one comes out (and it would give people more to do than break into the code).....

A: A-net wanted to make the map look more complete as it would look weird to have a large chunk of nothingness.

or

B: A-net will use that spot in the future when/if they ever add more content to guild wars.

sadly i doubt it, but one can always hope

Could it have been where Utopia would of been set?
Otherwise i think its just filling in so the map is square

From the concept drawings of Utopia, marshy/jungle/wetland areas, that area looks like where we might have gone. But sadly, it will never be.

guess what race hasnt been introduced yet! The SLYVARI! A-Net will probably use that area to introduce them

Yeah, they kind of have been introduced, wasn't very impressive though.

Either that....or they're planning implimentation of that PvE island like that suggestion in Sardelac that got 5stars and epic /signing...

But I don't really see a use for it now...

The island looks like a rocky, mountainous area. What could be introduced there?

Considering how the Slyvari seem to be born out of the ideas of Ventari and that his home in the jungle doesn't seem to look anything like the island, I doubt we'll be seeing them introduced.

It would interest me if we had another series of quests like the Titan questchain that had to deal with slaying a dragon that awoke soon after the Great Destroyer was slain.

the sylvari come from ventari's refuge, not from that area, this info is per guildwars SE pc gamer

Could be, like that hidden Mallyx outpost that got everyone banned.

Something COULD be there, just not publicly......

Or they could be saving it for a mini-expansion.

Why would the sylvari live there when their birthplace is in The tarnished coast(where ventari's tree was) since they are a new(newly born) race they couldn't really get to the island.

I think it will have significance in GW 2 though A dragon is probably living there/probably will be the location Primordus came from.
