There are lots of bosses outside outposts... The stupid naga thingy that drops a sword (forgot his name ;s SSai or sumthing like that), Chkkr the ranger on kurzick side, The mesmer and necro Bosses just outside Eternal Grove (Drazach Thicket) and Sunreach just outside Durheim.. And the war boss that drops an ugly shield just outside Leviathan Pits. The Necro with chillbains, zarnas and meril outside Altrum Ruins.
Most bosses are stationed near to outposts.. Dunno why.. maybe its made so that skill cappers dont have to get out of their way to cap em.. Or greens were supposed to be farmed easily.. but knowing Anet.. probably not.
