Why? Because you haven't seen one drop in a year, and that alone disproves they do not exist alltogether? Anyone that sais otherwise gets a treatment of you sticking your fingers in your ears shouting lalala.

Perhaps it's time to be a bit more openminded about this. Keep in mind that only one everlasting beetle tonic has dropped from the Zaishen Chest and the 'rare' item has yet to be found, and that for weeks before the Tonic dropped, people said Arenanet was lying and scamming and what not, and that there were no items in the chest.

What IF the odds were like the odds of getting something from rare from the Zaishen chest? What IF these r7 items only drop from creatures under level 20. How many people farmed L18 Vermin before lootscaling? A LOT, and during those days we got a few r7 items. How many people farm Vermin today? Less then 1% of the amount of people back then. What IF the odds of r7 drops have been reduced due to lootscaling or the AL10->8 item rebalancing patch? Then we'd be looking at figures where the frequency of occurance of r7 drops have been reduced by a factor 1000 or maybe even 10000 since LootScaling/Nightfall. So yeah, you haven't heard of any drops the past year. This proves nothing though.

I guess this is good news, but doesn't mean you'll start getting any.

i think, i quote my friend got a req7 shield drop the other day it was white and clean but i saw it. he siad it dropped but i cannot conferm it.

Throughout all the threads about r7 items in the past year, I don't believe there has been a single confirmed r7 item. This suggests that they don't drop anymore, considering how common (relatively) r7 items were before NF. If Gaile could be a bit more precise with her questioning, then there might be more to the story, but she happened to have skimped on the details.

Devs *THINKING* r7 max should drop does not make it actually happen.

There were major bugs with droprates before ... All it can take is one mistyped character and r7 does not drop even thou superficial sweep though code suggests it should. You cant exactly betatest 1 in million chances for something so you cant be sure.

So i will go with Sab, screenshot existing isncribable r7 and its undebatable.

One would think that r7 thing appearing would be noticed, at least by power traders because eventually it would be in stacks or armbraces league and noone want's to miss chance like that.

Unless, of course, all those r7 drops were for clueless people who either merched it (i met person claiming that low req items are worse than high req who merched anything that was not at least r11) or customized it or just ignored it.

Like I said, if we take all those factors in consideration, it's entirely possible that these items have not dropped in the quantities that makes us aware of it.

I say again:
* Droprate might have been lowered in the shield AL10->8 item rebalance patch or with the introduction of Nightfall
* It's possible that these items only drop from creatures with level below 20, or from 450g chests or something like that, and the heavy farming of those creatures is now almost nonexistant. We used to have thousands of people farming vermin and other low level creatures, now we do not!
* Combine the two above points and drop occurrance is now only 1/1000th to 1/10000th what it used to be, and it's entirely possible for us not seeing one for a year.

I guess you can just get 500 people to farm Vermin in the amount they did before Nightfall and Lootscaling, and them opening all the chests along the way? Because that is where most r7's came from. Once that happens and no r7 drops for a year, then I believe there is no r7.

The fact that there isn't ONE of it existed for all of us to see; THAT'S WHAT MATTERS.

I mean, sure sure it has a chance to drop, but nobody gets it (somehow). So what? Req7 can't drop = nobody has it. Req7 can drop but hasn't yet (to those who can show it to us) = nobody can see it = same result as though it can't drop.

What's the point arguing over it? So you can fool some req7 sellers to lower the price?

Not true. If they only drop from creatures below level 20, which arent even killed today, then we should go kill more creatures below level 20.

And till someone posts a recent R7 (doubt someone will find a inscribable before the end of the year if those even exist) there will be room for debate.

Well, yes and no.
No because it won't have any influence on the market.
The droprates are just too low to make it decent business.

Yes because the original arguments were about the item dropping or not.
Even if they only drop once every 10.000.000 gamehours they drop.
Then there is also a fair chance that the item drops for a new player or one that does not have knowledge about how rare they are they are probably going to merchant except the gold and maybe purple ones.

John never mentioned if the weapons were max, we already know that non-max q7's drop all the time, so maybe Gaile can ask again to find out if actual max q7's are being dropped still.

Loot scaling only affects whites, blues and gold coin drops AFAIK. Gold drops should remain the same.

Well he did say "super rare", and since non-max 7s are very definitely NOT super rare, it's fairly safe to assume he means max, right?


Also, zwie2stein: droprates CANNOT be that hard to code. Seriously. Anything with any non-zero percentage chance WILL appear.

If we are not talking r7 maximum damage gold items then this discussion is pointless.
Who cares about r7 if they are white or blue or purple? I've had r8 shields drop that were inscribable but all blue. No one wants em. I'm sure the same goes for r7.
And even though I can imagine r7's might still occasionally drop, there is no evidence at the moment. It's just that if they can bring out a polar bear mini of which only one is confirmed, I suppose a r7 might still drop at about the same rate. But that's just supposition, I have no idea whether any still drop nor have I seen any evidence thereof.

That's my whole point. If he doesn't mean gold ones then this whole discussion is pointless because people only want gold ones.

That is if you're going to sell it. I sure wouldn't sell them and I don't care if they're blue/purple/gold... I actually use a few purple items such as a fiery gladius, who cares about the color?

It's ironic that the *whole point* of the question was to know specifics, i.e. "is that max this or that skin or those specs or which campaign or what chest or...?" Without that, she might as well have told us that John had a nice bagel for lunch.

I'm beginning to think maybe John did intend r7s to be in the game, but it's somehow glitched to not drop at all. They've messed up droprates like that before, it could happen again.
