Drop the +5e mod. The scythe is the hardest-hitting weapon in the game, to give up a huge damage boost for a negligible energy boost is stupid.

I started using a Droknar's Reaper a while back and never looked back. Zealous, 15^50 and Enchanting are great mods for a scythe for general use.

Of course, it's always beneficial to have other scythes you can switch to when you need to. I'd also invest in an Ebon Scythe, Vampiric, and possibly Icy.

A discussion on scythe mods can be found in the Dervish Guide stickied at the top of this forum by the way.

Sundercrits on scythes are hot.

I have a Zealous 15^50 +30, Elemental 15^50 +30, Vamp 15^50 +30 and Sundering 15^50 +30.

I use Sundering 20/20, strength and honor (guided by fate is also good), and of enchanting (Fortitude is also good depending on your build)

If you're running AoM you could consider a zealous scythe mod to try and keep energy up.

for PvE you want Zealous, 15^enchant or 15^50 (doesn't really matter), and +20% Enchanting

for PvP you want vampiric, zealous, sundering, and elemental mods, all with 15^50 and +30hp

Sundering has better DPS then vamp with a scythe... Therefore, you should always use a sundering scythe for your damage swap.

Basically:
--> Sundering swap (for damage)
--> Zealous swap (for energy)
--> Elemental swap (for killing warriors)

--> 15/-1 Staff (for putting up expensive avatars)

Whether you choose hp+30 or enchantment mod is up to you and is pretty build specific TBH.
It is pretty obvious that all attacker classes should be using 15^50 mods 99.99% of the time so... yea

I hope this helps.

Zealous, 15^enchant, 20% Enchants. Godly weapons.

Oh and btw, if you're not using attacks "when foe has lower HP than you" you might want to go with defense mod instead of fortitude. I think somewhere here there were made pretty interesting points about this mod being more useful than the additional hp.
But all in all, Zealous is your friend.

I'm real fond of the Sundering 15^50

The last mod is a toss-up between Fortitude, Defense, Enchanting. It depends on your build.

Sundering increases this to 105.

Now, if we assume every hit is a critical hit, then Sundering should add 19 damage every 5 hits.

Vampiric adds 25 damage every 5 hits, regardless of critical hits or not. And every single hit being a critical hit is never going to happen.

Pretty much all of the general usage mods have been posted. Basicly just use the one that best suits your build. If you are running Lyssa, give yourself the damage mods. If you're running EDA, use Ebon, 20%Enchanting, and your favorite inscription.

anyways, perfect weapon setup imo would be:

zealous
15^50
defense (or fortitude if you feel like spending a bunch of money for no reason)

vampiric
15^50
defense (or fortitude if you feel like spending a bunch of money for no reason)

elemental (probably ebon to trigger EDA)
15^50
defense (or fortitude if you feel like spending a bunch of money for no reason)

+20e staff of fortitude (for casting melandru and casting builds)

How does one go about getting a Zealous snathe? Am I correct in thinking that, unless I get really lucky, I'm going to have to buy one off another player?

Roughly, how much should I expect to pay? I just hit 20, and bought my 70 armor, so not a lot of cash on hand.
