Where'd The Rares go?

Is it my imagination or are rares really hard to come by these days?

I am working on the Wisdom title, and have gotten to 2500 rares identified, I look at the time it took me, and then at the amount i need for the next lvl, 2500 more. OMG. I really dont want to run chests for 3 more years.

I would love to beable to play the game, go thru quests and missions and get rare drops. and let my title seeker id them.

But unless i am soloing GOK or farming Titans in DNKP, or doing a COF run - I hardly ever see a rare.
This game is called Guild Wars, not Rambo.

My guild has a fun time doing quests and helping each other out. Some titles seem to be counter productive towards the whole concept of the game.
I ve got legendary vanquisher and it was fun and a challange playing with guildees, but got maybe 1 or 2 rares in each zone i vanquished.

This just seems wrong to me.

u're not supposed to earn all titles simply playing the game. why having multiple dozens of titles when just one could do the job?

some titles do require time, don't come free

Ttitles just show that you play too much. Jus cus u dont have the title doesnt mean ur a nub. Y bother if its going to take a very long time?

Got over 7 gold drops in CoF 2 days ago, you're just bad luck.

pay 1k for unid golds and youll get more sellers. none of this 7 for 3k bullshit

well I'm sure that lots of people who have the title maxed (10 000ids) bought their unids from botters back when there were constantly spamming.

It will certainly take quite a while of time to get the title if you're going to go and find/id every single one of the golds yourself. But hey, thats what titles are... they wouldn't be much of an accomplishment if they didn't take some measure of work.

I have also gotten 7 gold drops in CoF, but that doesnt occur if you do it more then 5 times in a day. how's your math 8000rares/7 = 1142 days == 3 years

If you play the same character in PvE all the time, you're not going to see a ton of gold drops. Just how it is. I've noticed in my discussions with other players that those who say they are "lucky" with their drops distribute their time relatively evenly over a lot of toons, and those that are "unlucky" play one PvE toon exclusively.

Makes sense if you think about it from an anti-botting standpoint. Can't prove conclusively that it's true...but the pattern I've observed has been quite clear.

It's not too hard to find spots in Hard mode(pun intended) that yeild a gold drop every ~3-5 minutes, or less. That said, if you are trying to get all the rares yourself to max Wisdom, you're doing it wrong. If you really want Wisdom, buy unID's from others.

Let me be clearer, I dont want this title to be easy, and i dont want farmers to beable to go into a zone and get 30 rares. But maybe someone can come up an idea to have rares be a reward instead of somthing you buy or farm..

Is doing a mission with real players and getting 7 rares in the run so bad? or does anet prefer that everyone go solo to get the same result?

One way promotes comradory, the other promotes grinding and takes away the point of the title, and basically isnt fun anyway. I mean who cares if you have 10,000 rares id'd if you are a anti social non helpful guild member?

Sure? I made some VAettir to pay Tickets before the Last Canthan new year festival and I got 3..5 golds per run. I even got 3 usable ones out of 30 or so.

Oh I so want this title. Throw this idea in Sardelac while you're at it.
It can replace all the nonmaxed titles for which I can't be bothered to farm, grind, id, pvp, pve, mission, or vanquish.
And it can confer absolutely NO benefit to display: No health, no movement buff, no damage buff, no extra energy, no skill, no damage.

Hah, I'd love to know this as well. Of course, the fates of Guild Wars have decided they hate me, and as such anything luck-based I will fail miserably at.

Even then, I still got several golds just through normal play. Now I scarcely see one through a day's worth of play (several hours)

Do you suffer from the same affliction as me? I like a single toon's play style far more than all the others combined so she gets overused.

I play ranger and necromancer too. And occasionally dervish. Still happens. *shrug*

My necro was charmed as hell last weekend. I was just doing standard issue Vabbi quests and at least once an hour, some gold dropped. I also got a shitload of dye.

Put all those crappy whites, blues and purples to work. sAme with chalices and rin relics. Sell them, buy golds, get title. hell, get a monk and charge for runs. Take a hero monk for smiter, get a runnee to heal hero, charge 2k a piece that's 21 golds per run plus what gold, rares, and sell loot drops for you. Each run is about 45 minutes if you're good, so you can do more than one in a day. I'd say that cuts your 3 years down to about 6 months.

arent bots made to do this? give you unids in mass quantity.

you can never earn 10000 unids just by beating the game, even if you beat the game 500+
