Armbraces
3 pages • Page 3
While Ursanway farming may be bringing it down faster, everything in this game that's farmable drops in price. Ppl get their torm weapons, demand decreases. More are available, hence price drop.
Let's not forget to mention, the stacks and stacks and stacks that were created by the duping and are still in game. Everyone and their dogs know it. Of course it effects it.

In my experience, the value of 1 hour in GW is around 10k (dumb troll farming and the likes).
By this conclusion, it takes less than 17 hours to make one armbrace.
This sounds like a very reasonable estimate, and can certainly be topped. Considering that a full run can be completed in 2-3 hours, and chest drops are increased this way, one gets a full set in under 5 full runs.
With zero profit margin, hard price for armbraces is around 100k, or just a bit more, if one counts prices of consumables in there.

What's funny, that other games have really good systems against duping. For example Diablo 2, where each item has an unique key assigned to it. All legal items have it, from keys and potions to rarest armors and runes. If there is an item with the same key as other key somewhere in the database, the Battle.net checks which one was created second and it deletes it. Of course, hackers often protect themselves from that... But...
The weakest, yet the strongest at the same time defense against it is joining a game with both items. The game, knowing two items are exactly same, deletes automatically that newer item.
And I think that the second defense should be implemented. There are too many players to check every equip every day, but if someone has 2 same armbraces (duped), only one will be left. Pretty good system.
@Antheus - I would be REALLY happy if I could get 10k for hour... really.

On topic tho, I don't understand what the fuss is all about. EVERY item in this game declines in price over time. Some faster, some slower, but nothing can escape it (except maybe mini pets with fixed ammount of them out there). Maybe some day I get Tormented Staff...but, I would be much more satisfied if Platinum/Zodiac staves would start droping in all reqs from those chests

That's 9-14 hours an ambrace.. So expect the prices to evenutally reach 100k, possibly lower. One of two things will happen: A) The price will eventually reach a point where it won't be worth the time to farm, and there will a major decrease in Ursans (Unlikely to happen anytime soon). B) Anet nerfs ursan (very-likely).
Seriously it's inevitable that Ursanway will get nerfed. It may be the monk build that gets nerfed, or the Ursan Blessing itself, but either way it will happen.
So my advice: "Farm the hell out of Ambraces now, and get your Tormy weps while it's still very easy."

Anways, that statistic was absurdly askew, not factoring multiple/inactive accounts and plenty of other things. It's safe to say you can get by in GW with only 20k, but that you are infact poor. |

This is a market driven economy, supply and demand dictate price. Anet isn't going to step in because when the price gets too low, the return in gems will outweigh the investment in time, and people will go back to other farming spots/methods. This in turn will drive the price back up. One thing Anet should have done is put these gems in the rare mat trader.
@I might avenge you. In that case, expect the 600/smite build to be nerfed hard, since ectos are now half of what they used to cost...

What annoys me in GW is the people who want to look "rich" not good. Or the ones who saying Looking rich is looking good.

Math: A full run takes about 2,5hrs with a decent group (including killing mallyx; excluding afk time, setting up etc) and gives you 14 out of 60 gems. Assuming you'll also have a few gems drop for you each run, you'll need around 3,5 runs to reach 60.
On Hard Mode, you'll be there almost twice as fast.
