Possible Bug???
A couple players that have finished in the top 100 this year are not able to receive the prize (My guildmate being one of them). The npc "Jack" says that they have already received the prize, even though they never accepted it. The hunch is that because you already received a prize last year you can't get it again, which I'm guessing is partially true. Last year I won a beetle under the character name "Ekelon Mist", but this year I won it under "X Ekelon X", so I guess it's fine, but I'm guessing maybe if used the same character name then it wouldn't give you one the second time?

Miniature Greased Lightning. Same as last year. Thanks Anet for throwing a fun event this year! A lot of people have been complaining about the event being lame, but I loved it. I even opened like 100 fortunes and didn't get a rat, but I still enjoyed it!

It has been confirmed that anyone out of top 100 does NOT get anything (I have talked to various people who just missed top 100 by mere points).





So I think there are like 120-130 beetles out there now adding up the ones from last year.

EDIT: Please no QQ'ing in this thread. It pains me to see people constantly yelling "cheater" (I can't really argue against the low ping no-life part, because it did take a long time and a lot of commitment over the course of the weekend). Please keep it clean. Thanks!

The top 20 consisted of only 6 unique accounts.

For future reference, we plan on meeting with more beetle holders and getting a larger population of beetles all at 1 gathering ^.^

as an owner of a mini beetle myself, there is no hacking involved, nothing, no one has glitches or exploits, us racers had to use a certain strategy, and i really don't appreciate people calling yuri a hacker etc etc. he is a great racer and we should try to have the chance to beat him, not call him a hacker -.-, on an other note ty ekelon for posting this, might see your mini beetle in game and gj on the racing, i figured out what to do on the last day lol

I think if Anet awarded these to the top 100 accounts (not scores) it would take away a lot of the... cynicism towards the winners.

Now that the canthan new year is over how about the top racers tell us how they did it!

and why give out our technique, when people think we cheated.

Yeah if you have any lag whatsoever you lose instantly. Some people have the insta advantage.

Don't mind the cheating accusations. They're just jealous. However, you'd really dispel a lot of the criticism if you told us how you guys managed to get such high scores

just look at it this way 80% of this is luck, you gotta get lucky with the boxes, the other 20% is skill, cause you gotta know when to use your skills at a certain point to get the rrpm advantage, other than that, you won't get a high score if you don't know what to do, it took me almost all weekend to figure it out, and i had some help from ouija, but still, mostly luck.

Ive raced against Yuri, hes insane and i dont get it how he does it, i do know i didnt see him do any tricks or stuff that would otherwise be considered as cheating, what i dont like is that his name was in the list multiple times and i cant blame Yuri for that really, more like a fail in the ranking system, it should allow one entry per account, but if you would improve your record you just get bumped up in the list and not get multiple spots on the top 100.

I wasn't accusing you of cheating. I just wanted to know things like where to use certain skills and which paths to take and what not.

some of my guildies tried all weekend, never even got close, and i know they are good at rollerbeetle, shame for all who tried, just know u have my praise

i know you weren't but these other QQers who couldn't make it have to have an excuse for losing....

I had winning streaks of 5 several times, never came within 20,000 pts. of the top 100 and I got the whole "you are cheating crap". I don't really see how one could cheat. I can see how less knockdowns and a lot of luck in boxes would make the difference though.
