This has seriously bothered me.What was Anet thinking when they made the enviorment(Spelling plz) of gate of pain?
Someone please explain how they got the idea to make the landscape the way it is.There has to be some reasoning why the terrain is like that >_>

Are you referring to the environmental effect (damage after using skills), or just the visual landscape?

I believe that the visual landscape is supposed to be representing parts of abbadon mixed in with the architecture that was obviously in existence in the realm before the catastrophe. I would really like to see just some art from the GW artists that shows maybe some conept of how the realm looked before AND some art that shows how it would look AFTER Kormir puts her plans to restore the realm into motion ^_^

Tbh I think it's a bit ugly but it's supposed to be strange. I don't see anything wrong with it.

If you're talking about the environment effect, it's not such a big deal if you have half decent builds, so I do't think this was your intended meaning.

When I've always done that mission, I get the idea that you're inside a stomach, somehow.

Near the start, you walk past those like, artery kind of things, and if you look some places around the rest of the Torment, you see more stuff like little stomach's. Might be just me though - lool.

Shiing!, You're right, if you turn the volume right up you can hear your feet squishing about in the soft, fleshy floor.

As for the environment effect...it really doesn't make much difference. Monks can easily heal up the little damage you take when you cast or use a skill. To be honest I find the Domain of Secrets far more annoying / hard than the Domain of Pain.

Yuk, yes the first part always makes me feel like I'm in somethings gizzards - not a pleasant thought at all, and the squishy footsteps re-inforces the feeling.

And no, the environmental effect is not too harsh and is simple to deal with.

I think that the only place where you are wondering "what were they thinking" is when you first see the dreadspawn maw in the domain of anguish!

I for one have always dreamed of a day when I could rampage uncontrolled through the lower digestive tract of someone and tear stuff up.

No, wait that would be mexican water, not me.

I think the look really fits the theme of a dark, prison plane where a fallen, dark god has spent many centuries brooding and planning.

As for the environmental effect, I seldom noticed it.
