My "Stop Local Chat Flooding" Proposal...

So here is what I was thinking about when I was sitting in Shing Jea Monestary earlier today... yes, exactly 2 minutes ago.

So we all know that each city is known for its own "specialness".

Shing Jea is a great place to be social and flame people and stand in /dance for an hour.
Lions Arch is the un-official trade city. Same with Kamadan.

So maybe we could try to unflood the chats by doing the following things:

• Make Piken Square the unofficial "Guild Recruitment" town/outpost.

If you are recruiting for a guild you can go sit in Piken Square and tell everyone your humongous recruitment message. If you are looking for a guild, you can go sit there till you see a guild you like.

• Keep Shing Jea as the "social" place to be

As it is now, lets have Shing Jea stay as it is. Come sit and talk and /dance in the center of the Monestary. It is a fun party now, and it should always be that way.

• Make the Henge of Denravi the new unofficial place to trade

It used to be full of life, but now it, sadly, is a dead-beat outpost like most of the outposts in the game. We can bring the life back into it, and you can spam trade and local with all of your buying/selling needs. This will also let the flooding of Lions Arch and Kamadan's local chat, due to "W TB" stop.

• Let Augury Rock and Beacon's Perch continue being the place to find a run

This has been how it has been, and I, personally, like how it is.

• Let Beetlerun be the place for flames/trolling

Yes, I know having an outpost designated for this sounds bad, but it will help keep the rude comments in other chatting cities/outposts to a minimum.

Not everyone has Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall.

I know that, but people go to Shing Jea to hang out. I never said that, if this worked out, you couldn't sell in Kamadan and Lions Arch... I was just thinking this could have helped stop the flooding of Local Chat.

Usually Shing Jea is full of retard geeks who can't get a life. Most people turn Shing Jea local chat off as it's full of "lawl im leet lawl".

NOt that I like to down an already-downed idea but : even if every one coming to this forum abided by that, not even 10% of the population would actually work by that. And i'm not counting those that would look for those adds, or the act that some people(understand : me) quest in Piken.

Umm... You can't really just "make" something the trade capital or whatever. You can't just show up in LA, and be like "Hai d00dz, go to Henge of Denravi to trade now? kaythxbai!" and everyone will zone there, and trading will not be in LA anymore.

Basically, there's really nothing wrong with the current system, and if you disagree, there's nothing you can do about it.

Just like he said not everyone has Proh,Nf,Faction.

I herd social enginering is good. Oh, wait, I think I am confusing it with something else, oh ye right, real life. Like care? Why do you want to do this? Why do you think it will work?

Those places just evolved to be like that. It's not like someone said "LA shall be the trade capital" and it was done... These things happen organically, and definitely won't happen just because you 'said' that's the way things should be...

This made me chuckle.

So...anyone who wants to be nasty has to go to Beetletun. Surely people flaming other people is done on a whim, and not particularly planned like "Oh my, I feel particularly unwholesome today, I think I'll go to Beetletun and flame some people to make myself feel eminent". Aside from anything, after a while, ArenaNet could just park a rep in there and ban anyone who enters! Then...noone will use Beetletun any more, and will have to find somewhere else...if that "somewhere else" is Yahnur Market I'm coming after you...

Can't see this working at all.

Maybe if everyone selected a [sarcasm] mood at login & were teleported to that outpost for the period of the login or until they change their mood via the Friend List Tab.[/sarcasm]
