Shing Jea Monastery is currently making preparations for the coming Canthan New Year's Festival! The festivities will commence at Noon PST (-8 GMT) on Friday, February 8, 2008. Try your luck at the re-opened Shing Jea Boardwalk, or test your mettle in the Rollerbeetle Races and the Dragon Arena. The culinary inclined can help collaborate in creating a feast to please the Celestial Rat. There's even more to do, and many special surprises, so head over to the special event page to get all the details of this annual celebration.

So it looks like we are getting a "Mini Rat" pet now instead of mini pig like last year, hehe, nice.

Rat is boring :| but it's something different so I'm looking forwards to it, might get some lucky/unlucky titles too.

If you want to be a true Party Animal, (and show your festival spirit), you can earn points all weekend long (and even after the festival ends) by setting off fireworks, burning sparklers, or using any of a variety of other festive consumables from our many celebrations.

Special Miniature Rewards

In addition to the festival rewards mentioned above, two special miniatures will be available this year. For those lucky enough to receive multiple miniature pigs during last year's celebration, look for a special collector with a celestial surprise for you. And watch those Lunar Fortunes closely. Your immediate future just might include a miniature Celestial Rat in your pack.

Celestial Rat, kinda cool. And it reads like your pig might get upgraded to celestial as well, if you got more than 1 last year.

yep there's the new title track.....shame I sold all my old fireworks for pennies

I gave my spare minipigs to guildies so i don't get the 2nd mini

Awesome, I do have an extra mini-pig in storage so looks like I will be trading that in for whatever it gives you.

And Matric, more then likely it will be 10,000 units. Just like Sweet Tooth and Drunkard.

I remember being at the in-game chat with Gaile where someone asked if they could make a title track for sparklers and fireworks. Gaile said she would ask if they could, it looks like Anet does listen to the community after all.
