Not ironic, just over-the-top tautology: I love the undead staffs from the BMP, so I got one for my necro, modded it up for MM and ended up with-

the Hale Undead Death Staff of Death Magic.

The very basic definition of irony has been "an unfunny coincidence," like having your dad be a firefighter and your house burns down. Nowadays it's generally more or less accepted as "funny", but it could get you marked down in Eng 226.

Those are alway funny to find. I think I once got somethign that sounded like : Fire staff of water magic req X earth magic.
