I agree with you 255% (max SC upgrade ftw) on the gold sinks, absurd pricings on rares, and Ursan in anyway. I also don't like listening to people in RA or TA. My way, or the other way that I wont choose to do with you

Put Guild Wars before any family member, friend, job, or commitment outside of the GW portal………. It is just a game after all.

There really isn't many things aside from, being racist/sexist/eliteist, scamming, and being an arsehole that I'm not open to trying in game.

Mostly what I do and don't do in game is based on if doing that entertains me or not.

I don't farm simply because it bores me, even though I often find myself short on gold.

I don't have 1 true "main" character honestly, I have favorites but atm I have 8-9 playables all of which I play for a while then get tired of and go play one of the others for a fresh playstyle.

in short, what I do in the game is based on what I find fun and what keeps it fun for me.

I find this laughable. Honestly, just because some PvP players behave like assholes that doesn't mean all of them are "children who's only accomplishment in life is their amazing ability to permanently avoid a tan". I've ran into quite a lot of assholes in PvE aswell but you don't see me making such harsh generalisations now do you ? That rant is about as immature as the "little boys" you're ranting about.

There are plenty of nice people out there to PvP with, otherwise it sure wouldn't have kept my interest for 2,5 years.

I have to agree with this. Forum topics and posts are opinions. You're going to agree with some, and not with others. Fine to discuss that so long as you realize nothing you do will get the other person to agree with you. Otherwise, maybe you dont want to read forums.

Take Ursan. I'll state my opinion about it in a topic like this where it happens to be one of the things I refuse to do. No more or less than that was really intended to be conveyed. If someone wants to call that bitching and whining because they happen to disagree and are annoyed when they see that subject as something that someone doesnt like, its not my problem. I might even reply to them if they post a follow-up and I deem something I said, or someone else, might be clarified or added to.

I usually try very hard only to state my opinion and not go further than that, but if you post any follow-up posts, you invariably get caught up in the back and forth. Isnt that the nature of forums anyway?

I guess there's only a few small things I refuse to do. Minor, really.

I refuse to try for Survivor. It appears to be more trouble than it's worth.

I refuse to read the wiki for tips on missions/quests BEFORE doing them. I like finding things out myself. Even if that means doing a mission two-dozen times before I get it right.

I refuse to associate myself with Eric Cartman's and general bad attitudes. Sorry! But I have to deal with that outside of Guild Wars. Last thing I need is to live with it in Guild Wars.

Annnd I refuse to use whatever the latest "lingo" is like "epic fail" and "lawl".

I refuse to do all bunch of things.
No tanking when I'm on warrior.
No using shit builds, including most of PvE skills.
No using lame fame farm builds when I'm in HA
No using broken skills (Magebane prenerf)
No using exploits or glitches even if I know I won't be punished
No insulting people if I don't really have a good reason to. Even then I usually just put them on ignore.
No farming for shit I don't need

That's all I can think for now...

4. Do the /dance emote with my lady ranger.
5. Give to beggars.

Tank. If you tell me to be a lame-ass Ob Flesh tank, I tell you to suck less.

I won't run lame and cheap builds like Ursan, renewal nuker, BiP, bloodspike or IWAY. I like using my own skill to win, kthx.

And on Ursan... I'm torn on it.
On the one hand, it allows even terrible players to beat the game and get the phat lewts. Making the game more accessible is a good thing, of sorts.

On the other hand... if you're so horribly fail at Guild Wars you rely on Ursan to drag your sorry ass through DoA/HM/where ever... Remind me why you deserve phat lewts, again? Don't you think there ought to be some element of skill in getting the sweet skins, awesome drops and 'l33t' titles, even in PvE?

...play my warrior much anymore. He's now a mule. This is not on some principle; it just kinda bores me.

...Ursan. Again, not on principle. One reason I love the game (still!!!!) is because I can play with skills, make something synergize, learn things from this board, and be part of a team with my UNIQUE skills (even if they're bad). Having my bar put together for me? Not so fun.

...farm seriously. Yawn. Not what I play for, although kudos to those who can...they keep me in greens and golds and ectos.

...PvP much. After the first few times, when I WAS a noob, and recently, when I was STILL a noob at it, and getting flamed (after confessing up front that I was nooby), and getting /rank teabagged....again, just not what I'm playing for.

...seriously work on titles.

...Succeed at a survivor character. Oh, I've tried, and at the magic 250k mark or so, I make a bonehead play, or I lag, or a teammate lags, and poof.
Part of the problem is that I've set for myself the challenge of getting survivor without scrolls, ferries, runs, etc, so, I would have to clear...2 campaigns without dying, and I'm just not patient enough.

I refuse to:

1) Use Ursan. If it can't be done with my current team setup then i need to use a different one.
2) Sell anything using the trade channel (with the exception of responding to a WTB from someone if i happen to see it).
3) Play serious PvP. Quite frankly i don't like losing and i aint all that good at it.
4) Spend 2 hours with a bad PUG scrapping through an area/mission that should take 30mins. Well, i should clarify. I refuse to carry on with the PUG if they refuse to listen to advice/learn from other more experienced people. I'd rather leave and start again (yes, i do occasionaly PUG something). If people are new then fair enough but for s***s sake LISTEN to what people are telling you. It's for your benefit as well as ours.

I have no idea about the majority of the PvP "community". Especially not all of them.

What I know is that when I did PvP, the incidence of immaturity was easily high enough that one in three matches ended with either one of my own teammates insulting either me, my team, or the opponents, or the opponents insulting me or my teammates. It became consistently worse as the game aged and got to a truly ridiculous level once AB was introduced.

Whether that is because I have had bad luck with finding mature PvP players or because the majority of PvP really is immature I don't know. I have my suspicions, however. Regardless, I find it frustrating to be powerless in the face of the taunting of children who are only swearing and digitally gesturing at me because they know that there will never be any repercussions for their actions. Rather than continue to subject myself and my blood pressure to such cowards, I simply choose more mature venues for gaming.

I would note, for the record, that I have no such problems with LOTRO players and find them very pleasant to play with, even in "PUGs".

And I do not bludgeon people with it as so many PvP players do with their digital diddlies. I merely used that ending to my rant for comedic effect, which was, apparently, lost on you. If I were really bragging, I'd have pointed out that one of the cars is a Ford GT, and the other is a BMW 335i.

(Neither of the cars is either of those things)

While the comments in PvP (RA,AB) don't bother me, I've noticed them very often. In LOTRO PvP (on Brandywine) it's usually the same, although not as bad. I suspect in any competitive environment it's going to be like that and there isn't much you can do. A lot of people become vastly immature when they lose, me being one if I can't contain the anger from lousy and retarded things happening that are out of my control.

Also there is way too much elitism in this game as a whole and general assery (my word). Although I take part in some of it, mostly because I can't stand all the assery going on so join in to harass them back sometimes taggin innocents since I use local.

Erm so getting back on topic, another thing I refuse to do, is hold back.
