I still think the whole thing was handled poorly, but I'm not exactly ragequitting GW over it.

Pretty much my opinion on the whole thing - I purchased the games and such because I like the game, not for a promotion or exclusivity. However, I spent the extra dollars and dropped the box because they asked me to in order to support them (and they in return give me a "Thank You"). Based on how much extra I spend for GWEN and what the BMP costs I spent 5 extra dollars for a blanket one post "thank you" in a forum - not really worth the money if you ask me. Given what their past "thank yous" entailed I kinda fell ripped off that my extra dollars got me a whole blanket forum post. I shudder to think what the people who Gaile told to purchase slots (even when they made it clear that they had no use for them) think - that is an extra 20 dollars to support Anet. I don't know who's fault that is (Gaile probably has little to do with that), but whomsoever fault that is I can't say I'm happy.
I will also add that I will also ask questions and do so fairly often until answered. This whole thing could have been avoided if they answered one of the direct questions - and if they don't answer then I guess I will also point this out as often as I can as we can no longer trust what they usually mean by their press reports. We now have to make sure that we notice what they don't say instead of assuming that they told us all they could.
Of course, why ragequit? This is standard practice for game companies, just in the past Anet has not been a standard company. They now move into a lower slot and that is obviously what they want to have happen. Not a big deal, if I wanted to ragequit over this I would have quite playing games decades ago and they aren't the first to have changed in this way either.
