Weapons: A Call to Customization.

I disagree. If I have a high end item, I'm not going to strip 100% of its value by customizing it. I'll just use it where melee DPS isn't that important (most places lol) and do something else with my build like tank. If I want melee damage, sure I can take out a different weapon, there's no need to wreck a high end item really.

My 2g is, why buy a weapon for 100k+20e, just to actually be INFERIOR to my collector weapon that I got for about 200g worth of items?

But it wouldn't be inferior if you customized it, now would it?

Most people don't

3 extra damage is a negligible price to pay when you consider the following:

1. Maybe I want to use the weapons on more than 1 character
2. Maybe I'll want to sell the item later
3. Maybe I'll want to give the item away to a friend later
4. PvE is a no-brainer without 3 extra dmg and not everyone plays PvP
5. Is there a point to this thread other than trolling?

If you can't afford to throw away gold on a weapon you'll be using, why are you buying high end weapons in the first place?

The people who don't customize aren't the kind of people who would read this thread and take its advice. So ultimately this thread accomplishes nothing.

Thank you, you basically said what I was going to say. There's really not enough drive for me to customize my weapons because I may resell them at any time, give them away when I'm done, or transfer them between characters. If I customize them, I can never do any of that.

This, pretty much, except I wouldn't bring it into battle at all. If I have a high-end item, I'm selling that mofo. The damage output is exactly the same (actually less, ironically, because I wouldn't customize it) as the common green I'm already carrying around. The way I see it, everything I haven't already customized/dedicated is for sale. And even then, if you want a mini that badly and the price is right, I'll sell you one of my dedicated ones.

If someone's willing to pay 100k+250e for leet skinz, let them have it.

I'm going to use my 13-20 FDS because hey, it's only a few damage less.

I customize every weapon I get that I want to keep. Don't see any reason not to. I mean, if I don't plan on ever getting rid of it, why wouldn't I?

I customize all my weapons on my sin for this purpose I mean, I see a war with tormented sword and I ask if he customized it, but the obvious answer is no :/

Nah i dont like customize most of stuff cause i sometimes like change and doesnt like some skin so i get another and if old is customized i gotta merch items for what i've worked hard. But i customize if i got someting i rly want to keep.

I always customize everything I'm going to use in PvP.

but something like Ursan build with fancy weapons in PvE I will leave those weapons uncustomize :P

for me
PvP = every single damage count and add the pressure.
PvE = who the hell cares about melee damage do tank job block all and let's nukers kill those mobs :P

Let's face it, 99% of the time, people don't customize weapons because they plan to resell them. And let's face it, 99% of the time when people buy really expenssive stuff, they do that so they feel important, not because they really like the skin. So if you really want to be a "big man", customize it. Allmost anyone can afford expenssive stuff nowdays. But not many can afford to customize them (same would go for minipets, but I don't give a shit about them).

I seriously doubt it's that high of a percentage. Personally, I buy what I like, and only look at the price as a hurdle. I doubt I'm so alone in that way of thinking that I fall in 1%.

yeah, who cares about a 19-35 hammer not doing extra 20% damage for 10g?

uh..what's all this about ? if u want a customised weapon, get the BMP ones (if u have BMP of course). nice skin. no cost. just add the mods. salvage the mods when not needed. end of story.

Using an uncustomized martial weapon in PvP is really bad, whether it be daggers or scythes.

Where exacly do you get the 3 from? That's equal to vamp damage.

For those that don't know, the 20% damage on a customized is comparable to Sundering....except that it triggers on every hit and doesn't actually take up a mod. I never use uncustomized weapons....I always want maximum damage. In pve, there may be a few areas where it does less damage because of high armor, but it's still free damage. If you're not using a customized weapon, get some collector item. One of the many reasons not to pug: Players more interested in money/looking good, rather than actually playing good.

Why waste space on a tank when you can use a real warrior who does high damage?

First of all, I never PvP, but if I did I would have the common sense to use customized weapons. Secondly and lastly, you would seriously not PUG with me even though I use a non cookie-cutter, good build, and know how to play the game and listen to directions and not run off without the rest of the group?
