I think its about time this glitch ended (zone-anywhere glitch)

i made a thread about this earlier based on my doubts, and that one disappeared somewhere. this time, im making it again because ive seen it happen.

a few weeks ago i saw people advertising running anywhere for x amount of money, i became concerned that so many people would be able to do this, now i tried calling their bluff, and paid 2k for someone to run my derv (only has istan really, since shes survivor and working on eotn) to bone palace.

the fact remains that this glitch has been floating around for a month at least with nothing done about it though, that needs to stop NOW.

the thing is..it still works. my derv never had bone palace open before, just other chars had. (i just posted this after my derv got teled there like..what, 5 minutes ago? (dec 30, 2007)

point here is that its obviously not fixed

so like whats wrong with it? does it like make the game die? do you lose out cause others are somewhere further ahead? is like the flood of lvl1s to unbearable for you? i really dont see the problem i learned how to do it... but srsly im not gonna buy my gh the guild ambassador...

srsly i see nothing all that wrong but it could be fixed since its a glitch...

like srsly gw isnt gonna blow up cause lvls 1 at abaddon or whatever

to be honest, i couldnt give a damn less about the glitch itself. its people who MAKE MONEY from a glitch that shouldnt be there in the first place that ticks me off.
(read: name me one person who enjoys watching other people get rich off exploits?)

I wouldn't do it b/c i don't want that kind of money even if I were broke. If it really was an honest game mechanic I wouldn't mind ferrying friends to their heart's content.

To Saraphim: i dont know if you tried using the GH trick to reproduce the ferrying trick. the bottom line is, my derv got zoned all the way from istan to bone palace via the method i wrote in the screenie

Yeah, the glitch still works. Its time to really fix it imo.

I spotted people talking about a glitch 12 hours ago in LA international. When I logged onto Kamadan tonight I see 4 or 6 advertising to run to all towns / outposts in all maps for 3k per stop. Certainly have to agree with the OP that the glitch looks to be alive and well, and spreading out there.

This may not sound right, but having 11 pve characters myself and owning all chapters and expansions, i find this "bug" is the best "gift" Anet gave to us this winter. =D

Maybe it's been floating around this long because idiots are posting it in riverside. A glitch should be noted in the bug section.

When was the last time anyone visited the bug section?
Things get fixed very quickly in GW once enough people get pissed off.
And Riverside IS the place to get people pissed off!

Haha I love the fact that Anet thought they fixed the glitch, but there's another way to do it. Nice work as usual guys!

I'm not for this glitch and I know it's been around for a while now...The thing is you just posted how to do it, and that's going to cause teleportation madness now :S

if this gets blown out of proportion, all the better ^^
least some higher up or dev is bound to notice when everyone knows how to do it :P

true - but it will also get ANet's attention a lot faster than trying to file a support ticket and finally reaching a real person after 2-5 days.

Anet should leave this in so I don't have to play through boring missions to get to pretties.

Yep, it still works. Maybe ANet now wakes up. I think it is already too late. Besides, not that anyone would care about it. Garthporlest18 has a point.

I think Garthpolest18 has a point about it being a handy feature when you have played the game so much uncovered all the areas on one or more characters.

Where the point becomes invalid is that people will well know, be they ferry or passeger, that this is an intentional abuse of a glitch. While it has not the direct gain level as the other 2 recent events, it falls into the same category of abusing the TOS as did duping and getting stuff into pre-searing. This is not an intended feature or a Xmas present as someone else aluded to.

On the same note - the consequences should not be as severe as those handed out for the other 2 activities, but there should be some consequences if it can be traced.

I tend to agree with Gareth as well.

After playing X number of characters through a campaign, you wish at some point to be able to move through towns faster, because you know the storyline, and you've already played it before.
