I was bored, went to www.arena.net and was looking around, and what do I see on their jobs page? They are looking to hire someone for "Text/Voice/Video chat Engineer" and on the page describing what they want, it says, "3+ years of demonstrable experience doing relevant work; Experience with IM, VoIP or video programming" Link #1 Link #2
What do you guys think, good idea? Personally I don't use vent or ts since none of the pve stuff is hard enough that you need more than what you can type but it is something that I can see gvg and ha people really liking.
GW2 to have voice chat?

Sure. I see how it could hurt anything by having integrated voice chat. In fact, I think it would be a great addition. I personally don't use TS/Vent, but I do have them installed because a few guilds I was in required it (even for pve). However, I don't have a mic so it wouldn't be of much use to me other than simply listening to orders or whatever.

I pay for my guild's vent server, and though I like the ability to customize channels and such, the un-need to be on the game to be on voice chat and such, having it integrated in some way in GW2 would be really good. If they backlogged it to GW1 (likely if they put it in GW2, cuz it's the same kind of code), that'd be even better.
They mentioned working on VOIP around the release of Nightfall, IIRC. Just like when Phinney confirmed we were getting guild storage back when Factions was releasing.
