Im sorry if this has been posted before but i needa rant bout this,
What The Hell was A-Net thinking when they mad the max added damage +12????!!!
I mean, what the hell, come on you think thats balancing, man they murdered half my Skill chains
In my 47 cent opinion Trampling Ox takes too long to set up, i dont have time to make people a cripple before knocking there sorry carcas to the ground.
So fair thee well Horns Of The Ox, what you did wrong i dont know, when you'll be fixed i never know

Cheers Blacktail

P.S dont know how to put skills in posts lol

what horns of the ox "did wrong" was being essentially an unconditional knockdown that does around a hundred damage on a soft target.

and yes, that was skill balancing. figure out a new imba combo, or just accept that assassins are a lot weaker now (they shouldn't have been that strong to begin with).

is this the best way to about this? probably not. but it did solve a whole bunch of problems.

HoTO got nerfed because it was /cough too powerful.
It was ok since Factions until now.
Funny thing, really, because our 'experts' know that HoTO was overpowered long time ago.
But they didn't know it until it got nerfed!
I know, funny.

hoto was fine in factions, because blades of steel and impale did not do a combined 240 damage + deep wound back then.

and hoto did 100 damage is no exaggeration. it hits twice. without the damage nerf, that's at least around 45-50ish damage on each hit. add it together and you get close to 100 damage.

it doesn't really matter whether if it was overpowered before. in the environment prior to the huge assassin buffs a while back and before NF came about, horns was not overpowered because the skills that made it overpowered werent there. it was the same deal with back lotus strike.

about 40 and 40 or so damage.

Well,
Unconditional KD no, If it had an adjacent ally couldnt be Knocked Down which alot of the time that was how it was, unless in AB where spilits are highly regular.
100 damage....no, at max like 70 - 80 damage now days because people are indeed getting smarter *gasp* its true...
Im still unhappy that it only does a max combined damage of about 40 damage now >.<

Assassins are horridly designed because their sole function as an insta kill class is hugley flawed for a competative environment. Because of this the assassin as a class will never be truly balanced, either being exceptionally overpowered or pathetically weak.

Honestly I have had more trouble with the HotO than Tampling Ox. The crip KD I find so much easier to set up than trying to get the horns.

Why bother with GG if BMT is available/in the same attribute line/applies a longer Cripple? Soooo many good hexes available

Because hexes just give away the spike, and spiking while there's a Guardian on your target is damn near impossible?

Anet's doing a magnificent job of making assassins close to useless. They might as well just recall assassins as an optional profession. Pull them out of there, along with Paragons, Mesmers, Ritualists, Necromancers, Dervish and Rangers. Let's keep with the holy trinity going.

I use HotO on my Sin build and it works. I don't rely on a KD I do to win it for me as a Sin because usually someone walks near my target as a HotO so I've learned to just keep cripple and bleed up instead.
