I don't believe many people are aware of this system or have heard of it. In fact, I just discovered myself by combining the information of the two wiki's. Here it goes:

Every tier of KoBD one person has, it adds a point to this system.
When one has filled up the whole monument (11 destroyer weapons, 5 honor trophies, 5 fellowship trophies, 20 miniatures and 5 armor sets), it will add another point.

I'm not sure what does all these do, but I'm sure that Anet added it for a reason.

Ok I have difficulty to understand what you are actually trying to say.

Because the screenshots you’ve posted show the progress of your “Kind Of A Big Deal Title Track”.

If you haven’t Tier 1 (5 maxed titles) of KoaBD, you won’t be able to see any bits of the statue.
Tier 5 (25 titles) shows the full statue with this blue light in the back and the beacon of light on the helmet. And I wonder if there’s another upgrade to that statue on Tier 6 (30 titles, “A God under mere Mortals.” If someone has a screenshot, please let me know)

This has nothing to do with your progress on the individual monuments (Valour, Devotion, etc.) However I have a complete Hall of Monuments in the next couple of weeks and I’m very excited what will happen. Although I believe nothing will happen. GWEN is a few months old now and I haven’t seen any “omfg l0oK what I’ve got in my hall” threads. And a few people should have a full hall by now.

Personally I haven’t heard anything about the point system until you've mentioned it. I will go through the posts on both wikis, but I don’t think I will find anything that’s new to me though.

Initially, I thought that the statue would only be affected by KoBD title tracks as well. However, as I go through the discussions and pages of the two wiki's, I discovered that a full hall contributes the same as a tier of KoBD title track instead of the beacon of light, and so far, the maximum point to this point system is only 5. The beacon of light is more of the stage 5 of the statue.

Of course, these are only points made from the information available from the two wiki"s. My reason to post this is, I would like a confirmation or clarification if possible.

I am currently at rank 3 koabd title and just completed decking out the hall of monument today (11 destroyer, 5 armors, 5 titles, 5 heroes, 20 pets) I saw the beacon of light for 2 times I have gone in there. The third time I went back, the light was gone and I cannot achieve it again. Perhaps a bug?

Huh? Old news. The KoaBD and filling the HoM adds a level.

Here's a couple of factors that contributed to my confusion:

"The appearance of this monument changes as increasing ranks of the Kind Of A Big Deal title are acquired. Filling the various monuments (Miniatures, Heroes, Titles, Armor and Weapons) boosts the appearance by 1 rank (e.g. Having Kind Of A Big Deal Rank 2 but a full Hall will display a Monument of Rank 3) So far, this is the only monument known to change appearance depending on the owner's achievements."

From official wiki:
"A beacon of light appears on the helm of the armor for the Monument of Honor upon gaining the title My Guild Hall Smells of Rich Mahogany."

Upon reading these, I thought there were changes made to the monument or further confirmation to how the system really works. However, they have been proven to be false.

Then it works not as intended imo. I can see the beacon all the time and I need no other person. (Got 27 titles and 4 complete monuments)

I'm pretty close to 25 but I'm hoping I won't need to fill the hom. What a waste of destroyer weapon sitting on heroes. Guess I'll keep some pets around and get another armor after all. But the destroyer one... not tempted to do that one all.

well the change from 25 to 30 max titles did nothing to the big statue that i could see.

I've got koabd 1 title, added 5 armors. 20 minipets, 11 weapons and a lot of heroes - appearance of monument of honor didn't change. That's why i think that info presented in this topic, and on unofficial wiki is not truth.

Guess the following conclusions can be made at this point.

The honor statue will change based on Kobd tier range from tier 1 to tier 4.

The honor statue will receive a beacon light when one achieves tier 5 in Kobd.

The honor statue will receive a different beacon light when one achieves a full monument (11 destroyer weapons, 20 miniatures, 5 heroes/pets, 5 titles/achievements, 5 armor sets), and this light will only appear when a second person is in the monument.

Currently I have r3 KOABD and full hall of monumet:

-if I go in with heroes and or henchies I see

So you don't need to have r5 to get beacon of light. I am assuming that getting full HoM gives you bonus. This is why I am only going for r4 abd full HoM for GW2. If I have time left I might max more titles.

I assume to get beacon of light when I get r4 KOABD (and full HoM) and when I enter the HoM alone. But when I enter the HoM with r4 KOABD and full HoM) with h/h there will be no beacon of light.
So you don't need to have r5 to get beacon of light. I am assuming that getting full HoM gives you bonus. This is why I am only going for r4 abd full HoM for GW2. If I have time left I might max more titles. Interesting find there. I guess people may have overlooked that.

I'm going for rank 4 Kobd and full HoM as well. I believe that's the standard now so far as Hard Mode titles are more time-consuming than mere farming, although I am trying to squeesh a few Hard Mode titles into my schedule. So far, it doesn't seem worth it. Well, good luck to you and other people who are finishing this before the release of Guild Wars 2.

I don't think your observation about the beacon being there if more than one person is true. I have 25 titles, no destroyers on display, 4 sets of armor, all heroes/pets and about 16 pets on display.

I see the beacon completely alone or when I go in with other people.

AFAIK, the change to the statue is purely dependant on the koabd title and the beacon hasn't changed in any way in it's appearance from other additions to the hall.

Yeah r4 and full hom is certainly doable, at least in my case since I only play 1 character atm.


Regarding benefits in GW2:
As of yet no1 knows what kind of benefits they would give in GW2 or what requirements need to be met.
The above phenomenon might as well be a bug as far as I am concern. But I "HOPE" that getting a full hom gives me an edge (=bonus) such as not having to max koabd track as in at least 30 max titles.

If you have n number of honor trophies, then you will get unlock A
If you have n number of miniatures, then you will get unlock B
If you have n number of heroes/pets, then you will get unlock C
If you have n number of armors, then you will get unlock D
If you have n number of destroyer weapons, then you will get unlock E
If you have 1 point in the HoM system, will you get certain unlocks? Possibly.
If you have 2 points in the HoM system, will you get certain unlocks? Possibly.
If you have 3 points in the HoM system, will you get certain unlocks? Possibly.
If you have 4 points in the HoM system, will you get certain unlocks? Possibly.
If you have 5 points in the HoM system, will you get certain unlocks? Possibly.
If you have 6 points or beyond in the HoM system, will you get certain unlocks? Possibly.

Even though you do not meet the hardcore expectation of Hall of Monument, within this speculation, it seems that you should get enough unlocks to make it worth a while.

While we are on the topic, perhaps we can discuss about our goals in our Monuments. Personally, I'm aiming for 20 maxed titles, all destroyer weapons, 20 miniatures, all Mesmer armors, all heroes/pets statues, and so far, only four armor sets and Canthan Vanquisher is left. Perhaps you can share yours.

ATM I am only playing with one character, so she gets everything. The others are storage and getting free treasures in Elona. I was working on this before I knew you only needed 5 statues of each monument to get a full hom. But who knows maybe you'll get other bonus stuff with certain statues.

My HoM:
-Monument of Fellowship: - all heroes has upgraded armours, Phoenix, Black Widow, Black Moa and Animal Companion.

-Monument of Devotion: - >>20 dedicated

-Monument of Valor: all destroyer weapons

-Monument of Resilience: 5 sets ele Fow, Vabbian, Asuran, Monument and Norn

-Monument of Honor: currently at 17 max. Hoping to get at least 20.
Titles are LS, Legendary skill hunter, maxed all Gwen titles, Guardian and protector of Cantha/Elona, Potector of Tyria. Lightbringer and Sunspear.
Currently working on Guardia of Tyria(16/25), Cantha Vanquisher(2?/33). Thus giving me 20 maxed. But I'll probably also get Cantha cartographer.

Meanwhile I'll continue vanquishing/mapping Elona and Tyria (gradually earning gold and working on titles. (if maxed would give me 27 maxed titles). And wishful thinking is getting 30 maxed, in my case that would be sweet tooth (currently around 30%) and either treasure hunter/lucky or if I ever manage to get enough gold I'll just buy Wisdom title (currently <<< 10%, because my ranger has identified most). I don't think I'll even try the drunkard title or the kurzick/luxon titles.

Because working on these titles is time consuming and I have been around since factions), I have made a decision to do it this way. Work on one character and titles for this character.
But it might be more fun to just play the game (specially for new players).

Regarding gathering more than 5 armours or acquiring more mini pets; since I already have a maxed hom I'll hold on until I know more about what the benefits are for GW2.

No idea if it makes sense to add more than 20 minis to my main char's hall. Or another armor. Does FoW armor count extra/special?
