I searched and searched and searched and i just couldnt find the damn build for the life of me. a few questions.

1. Whats a decent pet to use.
2 Is it still popular to B/P in sf
3. What other areas can B/P teams go farming. [read] i only have prophecies and nightfall.

thank you in advance

1. Pretty much any pet, easiest to get is the Black Moa as it is already lvl 20. Probably the Hearty Evolution is best to go for now, as they don't leave explotiable corpses for MM's

2. SF is fairly quite, most teams there now seem to be 5 man.

3. ToPK, or Urgoz, usually Urgoz is as part of a bigger b/p team build.

all pets are equal, some just look nicer then others

B/P in sf? Most common area's for B/P are FoW and ToPK

Faction skills aren't that needed. Splinter weapon may be nice, however you could take an extra rit or mesmer with you for splinter

Could you post the build? or at least give me a link to it? like i said i cannot find any posts about them that actually tell the skilllist and tips on using it for the life of me.

[skill]Barrage[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill][skill]Savage Shot[/skill][skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill][skill]Comfort Animal[/skill][skill]Charm Animal[/skill]

This is all that's necessary to be a "B/P Ranger." All other slots are optional. Usually someone in the group takes Favorable Winds and someone else takes Winnowing, and a res skill is a good idea as well. Throw Dirt might be a helpful "Oh shit!" key as well.

Attributes focus on Marksmanship, Channeling, and Expertise. I don't have access to GW to see what they are exactly, but you can figure them out I'm sure.

As i dont have factions atm, which i am working on, would something like judges insight or conjure w/e work instead of splinter weapon as a temp fix? is there a nightfall substitute?

i also want to thank all of you for being patient with me as im sure you have had these questions asked many times before.

Honestly I haven't done a B/P run in many months.. last I knew they were using Splinter. But before Splinter became popular, everyone just used straight Barrage/Pet/Interrupts in B/P builds. So if you can't use Splinter, you could still do okay without it.. there's already plenty of stuff adding to your damage in a normal B/P group.

B/P teams used to go down Tombs and FoW daily although I havent done one in a long while.

I dont even know if they exist any more, as due to a recent skill update, pet corpses can no longer be exploited, meaning less minions which would certinaly make the job a whole lot slower ^^ But I suppose you could still try.

ah ok. mainly i am trying to get back into farming again and i never farmed before with my ranger. Way back when i hauled tons in with stance tank in sf before the ai nerf and before that i griffon farmed. now after a long break i come back and find i got nothing to go with >.<

thanks for all the advice. i still see b/p groups doing fow and sf albeit not as often.

If the MM wasn't able to take advantage of all the bleeding corpses that were created from the barrages then that MM should die. Seriously it's still fine, try it before posting

Last time I went into tombs there was a mix of R/Rt and R/Mo. 3:2 I believe.
Splinter adds damage but isn't needed. Use rebirth when you go R/Mo.

but B/P is just popular because it's easy. Don't worry about it.
Go with a group and just hang out in the back while you learn the few harder things as pulling and targeting.
Use your interupts frequently and you should be doing fine.

A "classic" B/P build would be:

[skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]Barrage[/skill][skill]Tiger's Fury[/skill][skill]throw dirt[/skill][skill]Favorable Winds[/skill][skill]comfort animal[/skill][skill]charm animal[/skill][skill]rebirth[/skill]

Not too many people would use this build anymore (because of newer skills), but it still works. There are many, many variations.

The closest I use to the classic version these days, for example, is:

[skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]Barrage[/skill] [wiki]Never Rampage Alone[/wiki] : [wiki]Pain Inverter[/wiki] : [wiki]Black Powder Mine[/wiki] [skill]comfort animal[/skill][skill]charm animal[/skill][skill]rebirth[/skill]

Which is subject to change without notice and is used in conjunction with other rangers (usually heroes), which carry FW and/or BHA, etc.
