I'll never understand the complaints about EotN armor. I don't care if they are reskins, they're some of the best looking sets in the game.

So Timmy doesn't get kidnapped or shot. Sounds like I good trade off to me.
Are you suggesting your safety is worth less than the Bonus Mission Pack? Or are you using an unrealistically extreme case to make a broad point?

Too bad I financed them so far, that's what idiot customers like me deserve.
I know, I buy $40 worth of gas a WEEK at the same place... what do I get?? NOTHING BUT MORE GAS!

I'm just lolling at all the QQ's... "Well, ANet didn't TELL us that there were going to be cool skins..." Yeah, and I didn't know microsoft stock was going to quadruple in price in the 90's. Maybe I should go complain to bill gates and tell him it's not fair I'm not a millionaire. After all, I AM using windows and i paid 90 bux for it so I'm a loyal customer...

They already got your money. You're not a good customer anymore...because you already bought everything you need. Such is life dealing with a PROFITABLE BUSINESS, and it's something I've been saying for a while now. Anet doesn't care about the players, they care about their bottom line.

Your so unbelivably wrong, Anet are making further GW products so where would the sense be to wind them all up? There doing it anyway but thats not what there thinking. They do care but not enough to make too much of a effort.

For the people in locales that don't normally use credit cards:

Maybe ANet screwed up by marketing and selling Guild Wars to those places without having a better means to buy the in-store stuff that's not offered on the shelves. In other words, maybe they shouldn't offer GW2 in those places, at least until they come up with other payment plans.

For the people too young to buy it:

Too bad. Blame your parents even though maybe they had more important things to spend their 'earned' money on than A little bonus pack for you. Be glad your parents even let you get the game in the first place. Not everyone is that lucky. I know we couldn't afford that kind of luxury when I was growing up. You're just spoiled. Of course this just goes to those that are complaining and not to those that accept that they couldn't get it for those reasons.

For those that didn't trust doing business on the internet:

E-Commerce isn't going away. You made a choice. Live with it.

ANet could have done it better, agreed. Sometimes people need to just accept responsibility for their own choices though. Again, this just goes out to those complaining with those reasons I listed.

Also, as far as things like SMS giving people with parents that won't buy stuff for them a chance, that's merely asking ANet to help you get around your parents saying no. That will only happen so many times I imagine, especially when your parents probably pay the bill.

I don't think Loviatar is the "thick" one here.
Also, Amadei just showed that it's possible to get a credit card in the Netherlands, where mr_groovy seemed to say they couldn't. You can't just villify ANET.
Pls Read is that just to much to demand? Hate quoting myself but:

Nah... you are missing the point. The point is, some parents are so overprotective, they don't let their kids work for/spend their own money.

There are ways to buy prepaid credit cards - you can even get them online, and if someone really cared, they could figure out how to do that from a country with no credit card system. Or buy a prepaid locally - one where you give over so much cash, and they give you a 16-digit number that works like a VISA anywhere you enter it, for that value.

If you are online, you had the ability to buy this, and you had months to figure out how to do that. My extended family is in three countries, five if I count the spouses of my siblings, seven if I include my own spouse's friends, all with different systems, in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and South East Asia. So I know you can do these things when you want to if you are dilligent.

Months.

Sorry, sympathy here = 0.

I must be one of the few people who are actually glad they didn't waste more money on this so-called bonus. The skins aren't all that impressive. But hey, whatever floats your boat

Your understanding of business is so vastly uninformed, and so wrong on so many levels, it is just amazing.

Customer relations outweighs simple dollars on so many levels, particularly in terms of ability to earn dollars.

We are all very valuable to Anet even if we never spend another dollar on an Anet product because we carry Anet's brand name in our pockets. Anet's image it what will determine whether or not it can continue to pull in revenue from new customers, and we are the ones who make the call over what that image is.

The power of having a game like GW is that Anet can get repetative contact with the very consumer base it is trying to make a good name with. Most companies spend very large budgets trying to persuade an unknown public that they have things that public wants. A company with an active community can get right in touch with the core movers and shakers of that public - the ones who set the trends for its public perception.

Even if we buy nothing more from Anet, we influence everyone else who may or may not choose to buy from Anet based upon our feelings towards Anet.

So... we are very valuable to Anet. More so than even a paying customer in a store. That customer has only marginal value until (s)he joins us.

lol at myself because somehow I thought this wasn't going to devolve into yet another thread where people are whining about not getting the bmp.

My sympathies tho to people who couldn't get it due to circumstances outside of their control.

imo the BMP is good and fun but it's not worth crying over. There are a lot of great skins in the campaigns/expansions if you think about it. Personally I'm having trouble deciding on BMP weapons to get because I already am very pleased with the weapons I've been using. The BMP skins are getting a lot of praise because they're new, good, and easy to get. My point is that there are many skins that would get the same amount of positive attention if they were released in such a way.

...Why then, if you knew you wanted it, did you not start a petition sooner?...
You probably forgot how it was on this forum back there. Half of the forum was flaming about this "bonus". Or do you think that petition is the only thing that matters? IMO that's wrong - petition is pretty useless as well.

Thinking of this bonus pack situation I've got a few ideas I'd like to share. Lots of people became frustrated back there coz they wanted this bonus pack but had no means to get it. There was flaming, whining, cursing and all kind of usual stuff including few constructive ideas. As people let their frustration out and nothing really happened it all came to an end. It was obvious that release of the bonus pack will bring it back (unless it will be totally lame).

So, all this "before" and "after" talk is not the point at all here. People just got a reminder that they were ignored back there and they're venting anger.

P.S. I've got no bonus pack due to the fact that I live in country with problematic credit cards. I can't say that I care for this bonus pack much.

I don't have BMP and don't regret not having it. Though I love the new weapon skins. They own all the unique skins available from the 4 campaigns' elite areas! Man those new scythes look sick! I wish they are tradable!

hell, before I pulled my wife out of her parents' house (she was 24 at the time, mind you) her parents wouldn't let her breathe without permission, much less spend her own money earned through hard work. 24 years old. and you think normal kids have it bad.

---

anet made it pretty damn clear that the rewards were a special surprise, which both was a boon and a curse- some people would be looking forward to it and others wouldn't break down enough to trust them. Now that it's out the naysayers are bashing anet for "letting them down" and now want access.

Well, i'm just go on the record here, and say i've got the BMP, i made the requirement, i love it... it's a great mini-expansion, but for all the other epic d-bags who are saying "i'm uber leet cause i gots it and now you can'ts so i'm talk trash about it to you now" should just stfu please, cause seriously if you were in the same position you'd be screaming for it too. not everyone has rich mummy and diddys. not everyone has a credit card. not everyone has money, which would kinda point out the reason why they play this instead of WoW. I have the bonus mission pack, but i'm starting to see that i'm the one of the few who do that think everyone should be able to get it.

I say don't offer it for sale period. Bonus is by definition an extra given for meeting a requirement. As for euro customers and their whines I know FOR A FACT that you can get pre loaded debit and credit cards there. What stopped you? Did you forget your pin? Same goes for minors. Any chump with 40 bucks cash can get a pre loaded card with 30 dollars on it. The promotion was offered you did have a means to participate you were just either A) too inept or B) too lazy to find out how and Arena Net can hardly be held responsible for it. So now you miss out on the groovey skins and you can all sip on your haterade and watch me pimp my new Charr curses staff and undead sword.

What you never heard of PINPAS? of course you have it's the very system you are describing. They do issue pre paid plastic cards if you can get off your lazy butt and go get one. I used to travel a lot in Europe and guess what no pin for me so yeah I know you can get them. It functions the same as a Mastercard and, Masetro brand I believe. I'll have to look for my euro junk box. anyway without a pin, in pin based systems you have to have a debit card unless you want to carry cash around and get robbed, thus rendering you penniless. I always travel with pre paid debit cards whereever I go.
